i no i was thinking the same thing did he do something rong i was told walk away from a bike if it will not start in 3 kicks
@Twostrokealec5 жыл бұрын
robert coates lol he just rebuilt the whole motor, it’s gonna take time for the fuel to get into every nook and cranny of the carburetor, the reeds, ect. There’s not even any oil in the top end yet technically that’s why when he starts it it revs so high it’s running lean yet because like i said, it’s brand new top end hasn’t seen any fuel yet

After I retired I got hooked on buying older MX bikes and redoing them, every last piece. They all turned out great but it sure isn't worth it for resale, parts cost way too much, so I no longer do it. But I miss doing it. Cool vids.

Good job on the rebuild, with a forged piston make sure you warm the bike up before hammering on it. Sounds sooo goooood.

The bike is sweet! I personally would have cleaned the frame and pipe before putting it back together.I would have had a pair of riding boots on when kick starting it,probably would have been easier to start. LOL,just a suggestion.

Wut year is your KX250? I have a 99 KX250 and I was thinking about doing a full rebuild,I tried to start it but it won"t start,it doesn"t have any compression so again,,I"m gona end up rebuilding the whole motor.I would like to put a newer style front fender and number plate from a newer KX450 on it though.

Overall, not a bad rebuild,..It was nice to see you invested in specialty tools, but you missed many important aspects of a "clean" engine rebuild....I loved the videos....I was looking for actual tourque and number spec, the use of loctite, wrist pin clip location, clutch basket filing, maybe some piston measurement and what bore are you on etc. There are a lot of people watching and taking advise, so just provide some facts with your rebuild...

When you start up a bike you don’t give anything throttle but only a slight touch. The reason your bike wasn’t startling is because you let on opening the throttle. The only time you open the throttle wide is when you drop the bike because it’s flooded.

Nice video bro good job on the field don't mind the haters on that kick sometimes it's a bitch to kick them my 88 CR500 I had to strap it to something so I can stand up on it and kick it you could say it had a little bit more compression than a little 250
@berube3615 жыл бұрын
Actually a 250 like this bike will generally have more compression, even more so than a 500. This 250 could see as high as 220psi of compression but around 190psi would be in the normal range give or take depending on condition of motor. Cr500 would be in the 150psi range and could be higher around 170. It's not the compression that gets you when kicking the 500. I have a 1986 cr500 myself.
