I have a version of this laptop, with the Ryzen 3200u, I put 16gb of ram (2x8gb) and it can run games waaayyy better than with the 4gb of ram that came with it like the one in the video, so maybe up the ram in it altho it's no vega graphics so I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt

If all you have towards a "gaming" anything is $400.. then for the love of God DO NOT BUY something as low end as this! You're likely to find something way better in the used market with a dedicated graphics card for the same money. Remember kids, a used, high end thingy is more better than a new, low-end thingy!

You need to be very careful with budget HP's some have horrible hinge designs. Someone at my work bought one and the hinge would crack the base part of the laptop just pushing it back a normal way.

Finally someone said it. My laptop fell victim to this when I dropped it from inside my backpack. One hinge snapped out and the other eventually wore out 😭.

This would break from merely pushing back the screen when opened. I think $600-$700 laptop quality is a lot better in general. (Or is it $700-$800 now with inflation?)
@brxan3096

I've personally never owned a HP laptop but I have some cousins & friends who've had them over the years and almost all of them have had hinge problems. That along with the overall terrible build quality on their low end - mid range stuff is something that's always put me off HP's products.

Ok look I think we all need to come together as a community and agree on that eSport titles (Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant...) should NOT be considered benchmark anymore, as literally a modern potato nowadays can run it at playable fps Games that SHOULD be focused on every single KZbinrs benchmark include Cyberpunk, Spiderman, Forza, and maybe even Apex Legends Point is, I don't want to see stuff like League of Legends as a benchmark anymore 😂

I totally agree with you! Because personally, I feel like Fortnite and all those that are SO much like it, or based on the very same concept. Are very simple & at this point, & not to insult anyone.. but I'm now finding these types of games very childish & basic. And it seems that the makers of these games are just pumping them out & everyone is just eating them up & why? It is absolutely beyond me! Unless, it's like I said before, just young kids buying into that type of market. I would like to build, & ultimately have a PC that is powerful enough to run & do anything & everything that the video game makers can throw at us, the consumer, at this particular moment in time. Also, within that.. My hope would be that it would be so that I could just continue to upgrade it as time & technology continues to grow. I currently have an Acer Laptop & a Dell Inspiron, both of which are a couple yr.s old. & a PSP, PS4, PSVR1, PS5, & an old Xbox 1.. And I recently bought a Logitech G923 racing wheel & pedals & gearshift/ Apex GT Omega wheels stand.. Anyway, my point is, I'm into a little bit of EVERYTHING! & I'm in search of a PC, or even a Laptop. That's capable of doing exactly what I've said.. if anyone could please help in giving me any information? I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks

@@ms.harleygamer7232 Well I'd start off my selling everything you just mentioned lmao like WHAT? I don't even wanna imagine how much space that is taking up (might wanna hurry up and sell stuff in general before November rolls around) But me personally what I'm going to do this year is build a PC for around $600-700 to use for school/work and to play the quote 'Playstation exclusives' and then I'm getting a used Series S for under $220 to take advantage of gamepass and play the next gen sports titles (but the Series S can also do emulation sooo... basically I'm set) The worst anybody could do at this current time is spend upwards of $600-650 on a SINGULAR console in the PS5... they're losing their so called 'exclusives' and Sony is stingy on literally everything (backwards compatibility, PS Plus, Microsoft's gamepass, making literal cheaper models to manufacture only to sell em to you at even HIGHER prices) Even at the standard $500 the PS5 just isn't worth it right now, and doesn't seem to be in the future with GPU price tanking... meanwhile the Series S on the other hand is the best value in all of gaming being able to run almost anything under $200 So yeah find a good guide to build a PC that's in your budget, and get yourself a Series S

A few days ago I was at Walmart and found that they were selling an MSI GF63 Thin11SC-693 15.6” Gaming Laptop with an i5-11400H, GTX 1650, 8GB RAM, and a 256GB NVMe SSD for $600, which seems like a good deal to me. It would be great of you guys could do a review and benchmark it to see how good (or bad?) of a gaming laptop it truly is. Plus, im in desperate need of an upgrade and im actually considering buying this laptop soon, so it would really help if you did that. Cheers!

my son bought one about a year ago for $648, I had a 500gb ssd laying around, and he bought an extra 8gb of RAM. He has really enjoyed it, and has been able to play every game he wanted to play. He hasn't had any issues at all with it, and upgrading the memory and adding the SSD was easier than I expected. I did have to remove the bottom cover, but there are several videos online that do it step by step if you need it. It came with the bracket and screws for the SSD in the box.

Here's my main requirement: I don't want to play Fortnite or Apex Legends with it, I have a ps4 for that; however it needs to be able to play a range of old school games (think Sacred & Thief) to semi modern games ( like a modded Skyrim). A Restored (refurbished) HP Pavilion R5 1650 super for around 600 with tax and shipping is a pretty great way to go. It will run pretty much all Elder Scrolls and Fallout games without issues and obviously be no problem for your older games. If anything you could go the optiplex route that the toasty bros do videos on but I can't vouch for how well they'll do with Skyrim
