Very well done! Another classic Polaris back on the snow. Great to see the kids involved in learning how to bring a machine back to life.

Good work man! Love seeing yhe kids getting involved. With how much you wouldve spent in bearings and welding and all that time on the rail would've been cheaper getting a good used skid, but each to their own. Regardless good work, good content!

Thanks! If I add the hours and what the sled is worth, I probably paid myself $1 and hour 😁

Those water pumps take oil , don't you hear that winning noise kinda sounds like a turbo that's the water pump making that noise.
@VincesDIYs9 күн бұрын
@@larrywarner9314 yup. They make the noise when they are dying. The rebuilt one made that noise for a little while but then quieted down after a few hours of running.

@@VincesDIYsI have a Polaris Indy that won’t stay running I’m gonna be working. On it tomorrow morning and I also have a ski doo mxz 400 it won’t stay running

It's very cool that you can fix all that stuff by yourself. I bought a 2000 Polaris Indy 500. It needed a lot of work. It's been in the shop twice to get repairs. And the last guy that worked on it, He knows his snowmobile's. He told me that I have the wrong skis on it. He said those are Yamaha skis. Are they interchangeable? Just curious it runs fine. The way they are, but I really would like original equipment on it.
@VincesDIYs12 күн бұрын
Skis can be interchangale depending on the mounts. I would just run it as is and see who ti steers and feels. You could later look for used skis on facebook marketplace or get aftermaket C&A or Skydog skis

Also if it has white smoke still it needs ahead gasket the coolant leaks into pistons and makes it burn coolant blue smoke means good oil 😢
@VincesDIYs10 күн бұрын
It’s fine now. Just a lot of left over coolant in the exhaust.

Quite the video in the making (over a few years).
@VincesDIYs11 күн бұрын
Yup, it took a lot longer than I imagined at the start.

You might want to do a coolant leak down test , that looks like you need head gaskets
@VincesDIYs11 күн бұрын
Its running fine for the past year. Just alot of coolant in the pipe and crankcase.
@larrywarner931411 күн бұрын
Putting that much heat on that clutch you probably melted the in sheath bushing, and probably the crank seal !
@VincesDIYs10 күн бұрын
Cranks seal was fine. I ended up replacing the clutch as some of the ramps, rollers, et. were worn. Basically the clutch was neglected like the rest of the sled…

Who repaired your water pump if you don't mind me asking ?

I tried to find the person but it’s been three years. If I come across the info I will post it.

Definitely burning coolant.
@VincesDIYs11 күн бұрын
Yup, it had a lot in the crankcase and pipe so it took a bit to burn off.

U mean u cut the clutch off not the primary primary is the big one
@VincesDIYs10 күн бұрын
Primary is the small one attached to the motor. It would not release / come off the motor with a puller etc. so I cut it off and installed a better working used clutch.

I would have never bought that nightmare that welded trailering arm will crack whenever you weld suspension parts they always break
@VincesDIYs11 күн бұрын
Ya, we did not know what we were getting into. The original weld, was very thin so I’m quite sure it will be fine. It’s doing fine a few winters later.
@Swampkiller1Tv10 күн бұрын
Lol might need a head gasket or coolant burnt out
@VincesDIYs10 күн бұрын
It cleared up after a good run. Thankfully no gaskets needed.
