As it seems we've now lost Arctic Cat as well I hope Ski Doo and Polaris are taking copious amounts of notes. Get the price of these sleds down or at least focus on 1 decent trail sled under $15k or we won't have a sport left. Snowmobiling is about escaping the daily grind so why do we need to focus so hard on gadgets and smart shocks etc etc? It's about enjoying the ride. I know alot of folks buy these expensive new machines but alot more don't. Dollars are harder to come by these days than ever before and if we want this amazing sport to survive the prices have to come down.

Sled prices are up for sure-but I was looking at ski doo’s site. You can get a 600 MXZ with e-start for under $10,000. It’s 125 hp. It’s fully capable sled. Are we saying we want cheaper sleds and there they are right before us?

2025 is the last year for Yamaha Sleds.. It looks like it's the last year for Arctic Cat Sleds too. The two sleds I own now that are already paid for don't have many miles on them because we don't get much snow anymore in Southern MIchigan .. I hope to make it the Upper Peninsula for the first time this Winter.

i've said it before and i'll say it again.focus on entry level machines a bit more and grow the sport. it's in the content creators best interest, it's in the manufacturers best interest. people are feeling the pinch and won't be able to afford the high dollar machine for much longer.i tried researching for an entry level machine on the net and it was woefully bereft of info for a sub 15k machine.i went back several years of snowtrack content and you guys just focus on the latest/greatest machines almost exclusively.this episode just proves my point.calling the mxz 600r an entry level is a huuuge stretch compared to an expedition sport.

We said that as Yammy die hards over the past several decades, since the RX-1, really. Until they reel in the pricing and get the reliability under control you're going to see less and less engagement now that the covid hysteria has died down. Insurance is up, fuel is up, interest payments are up and so is everything else right now. A lot of people cannot afford to have a 25k toy. Think about it. You can get a top of the line sport bike for the same cost with far more performance and engineering (especially in the motor) for the same price. There needs to be a reshuffling in all the brands and AC is at the forefront. Frankly, the worst parts of my Sidewinder are AC engineering. Go look at the Apex and see them running for 60000+ kms with little to no issues. No blown belts, no reverse locking up, no misaligned plastics, no electrical glitches or clutch alignment issues, etc. Reliability needs to be part of the equation going forward and every single buyer should be demanding and rewarding that ethos.

All these useless fancy doodads are why sleds are way overpriced and manufacturers are forced to shut down. 7lbs? Who cares, really? I gained more than that over the holidays. It’s a snowmobile, not a helicopter. The bells and whistles won’t matter when they all go belly up. Manufacturers would be wise to go back to basics and make sleds affordable again, and maintainable by the average DIYer. The IQ chassis was great. Polaris should do something like that again. Keep it simple.
