Excellent video. The dishes looked hit and miss. The beef dish looked lost and busy. There were dishes however that looked great.

No it’s not worth it. Spent $500 on anniversary. Wife had 5 course tasting and I had 7course tasting menu. Biggest failure was the tasting menu because you really have no idea what what you’re getting and will you enjoy it I didn’t get the pleasure I was seeking.

Sorry to hear that. We wouldn’t have minded so much being surprised if quality and creativity were at a high caliber. But if there’s a shot, an unlikely shot but a shot nonetheless, that Panera Bread could make an equally good (or bad) baguette as a fine dining place, or that we’re highly confident that local French cafes such as Le Cafe du Vegas can do a more pleasant baguette, then I rest my case. Thanks for watching!

Great review and analysis! Sounds like they're using some cheap truffles, unfortunately. Maybe this is just where I'm from, but it would be odd for me to be served by someone with rubber gloves on when I'm paying $700+ for a meal. I want to feel comfortable, not like I'm in a doctors office!

You know what? You raise an extremely good point about the gloves. Being there, seeing the gloves felt off but I couldn't quite articulate it, so it didn't end up in the video. But yeah, especially black gloves that have a sheen to them. I don't know if there's a rubber / latex glove of any color that would've been more palatable. Maybe designer gloves of some sort would've been better, designer in the sense of having a more pleasing visual pattern and texture? About the truffles, not skeptical by your comment but more shocked by the fact that even cheap truffles can taste like that?! That's wild to me. And I thought I went cheap when I bought jarred truffles from Costco (so relatively cheap as opposed to boutique) that come from Les Truffieres de Rabasse, and the Costco truffles nailed it. Now I'm curious if there's even cheaper, worse truffles to be had. Thanks for watching!

@@franklyvegas I've seen white gloves in other restaurants before, but to be honest I prefer bare hands. Something about gloves always ends up feeling too clinical (rubber) or pretentious (white gloves) to me. It's hard to tell from the video, but at that price point they may have been Chinese truffles. They're notorious for basically being decoration only; very little aroma or flavor. Costco on the other hand consistently seems to have the best of everything, so I'm not surprised those were great!

@@DamonBarrett It never dawned on me that Chinese truffles would be used for decoration only. I'm willing to gloss this over at a much lower priced place, even at maybe an Olive Garden, but at a fine dining place? This seems criminal to me. One would assume the kitchen would take samplings to ensure the ingredients meet their standards that they'll then impart on their customers. The more I'm considering these points, the more questions I have about this place. Costco is amazing in so many ways. Been a card-carrying member for a couple of decades :D
