Owner of a 2017 here (Nitrous Blue & RS2) that is bone stock and I could not agree more, excellent daily driver that is practical and all around awesome! And I came from a moderately modded 2008 GT500 (547 RWHP). Sure, power certainly is not the same but toss the RS in some twisties and the smile grows as the memories of a rick-shaw suspension fade!!!

I tried both (actually had an ST for a few months - Ford demo) and it is not as comfortable as the RS. I feel the RS is a more complete car and better than the VW Golf R. It was cheaper at the time and came with 4 additional winter tires and wheels... As usual good fun review !

This car is badass! But the price tag is a bit much for just a "zip around town" kind of car I would use it for. The search continues! Also, 3 beans? Holy moly that's impressive!

All I can say is that 8-10 years from now those of you who didn't buy a brand new Focus RS when you had the chance will be regretting that decision! They'll just become harder and harder to get your hands on at a good price! I can see the value of these hanging at around 35K and then slowly going up as they get closer to 20 years old. Now is the time to buy one! I ain't selling mine!

You had fun in that one Sarah. I can tell. Just wasn’t quite aggressive enough to rate a higher bean score. It needs more than a Cobb stage 2 to meet your requirements. 2000 looked at 2 cars toyota echo and ford focus. 2800 dollars more for the ford. No brainer took the toyota quality for 13k delivered price. now with 170k still going strong. best car I have ever owned. focus the most recalled car in history. I think this focus is the one made in germany and a real car. nice review.

Sarah, I don't care what Scotty Kilmer says about car reviewers, your reviews are superb! They're objective, factual and sprinkled with just the right amount of humor and cuteness. Keep it up. I happen to own one of these "bad chickens;" an 18 in Race Red. I think I got the last red one in San Diego? I love the hell out of driving this car. Mine also has the cold air intake and popping exhaust; all I need to complete it is the tune. I thought you were going to give this car two beans, but you surprised me with three beans! I'm very happy about that, seeing as how you're the bean score expert! Too bad you didn't have a chance to try out the "drift stick." I've heard that those are a kick in the butt to play with. Correct if I’m wrong Nitrous Blue has a gold flaking in the paint work, so it would be metallic versus Grabber blue which doesn’t have any metallic/pearl in it. I really dig the Focus RS I just wish Ford would continue it for a little longer 🙃

As funny as always. Like your kind of reviews so much. The Focus RS is a great car and to my mind really fast. It’s not clear by now if there will be a new RS in Europe. By the moment there is only the 2019 ST with the 2.3 Ecoboost and 280 hp. Because of environmental laws its harder to get that much power, also because of otto partical filter in direct injection cars. That brought the Mustang Ecoboost down from 317 hp in 2016 to 280 now.

I agree Sarah, ford was very stupid to get rid of the focus and fiesta. I had a 2010 focus se that I bought new. I loved that car, 2 door 5 speed in ebony black. It was fast, fun to drive, handled great, and comfortable. Also got almost 30mpg around town. I miss it...

Ford tech here... good luck with that.. faulty heads and head gaskets. The factory repair is to install a new head and gasket ( same part numbers as the faulty ones ) good thing you're hot Sarah.. honistly only thing that kept me watching.

The stiff ride does wear on you when on a multiple hour road trip. I swapped out the stock suspension for ST coilovers. Love em. And yeah, I think the RS is special.

The early RS had stiff suspension. That was changed with the mid-17 model. Much more comfortable afterwards. I own an '18 and installed a DSC suspension and module. It wasn't better than stock as a daily so sold the suspension and reinstalled the stock suspension. It's not the best of the best, but there are still lots of smiles per mile and I never tire of driving it.

I have a 2016 RS and drove regularly from Phoenix to the bay area 11 hour drive. And I got out feeling like I could drive another 11 hours, so I respectfully disagree. The Recaro's make all the difference.
