Watch it again. He didn't even push the damn stump through the bottom. There's still stump left and with the current grade he'll be getting called back out to finish grinding it once the landscaper comes in to remove the front lawn, regrade "finds the stump thats there" and is trying to sod the lawn. I work after tree guys all the time and they all do surface grinds. I then have to charge more to come out and do a full grind.
@fulks1928 күн бұрын
I agree. I had that identical grinder with the 74 HP Kohler diesel. I ground thousands of Oak stumps and I loved doing them because they chip up really nice. I always took stumps out. On a big stump, like that, all he had to do was grind 10-12 inches below grade. I retired my business this year. I hated doing regrinds because you never know what the previous grinder left behind plus the customer already paid for the job once.

Get yourself a Rayco and you won’t have any belts to replace. It’s all hydraulically driven. And personally, I don’t like remote control on stumpers. You can’t variably control the swing speed. By the location and spacing, those trees were likely planted when the house was built. The late 80’s is what I’m guessing from the house and size of the stump.. Live oaks grow pretty fast but can live a hundred or more years. 35 years tops on these.

@@CC-nq7mp it is really hard to get that point across to customers. That's why my company would do a stump that size for maybe $100. Maybe you should pay for the transport of those machines to your property and back? When you removed those 5 stumps, how much time did it take you?
