$400 vs $800 Racing Seats

Today I wanted to do a comparison and talk about the differences between my old CR1 Corbeau seats and my new Sparco Evo II's. Is it worth paying twice the price? Whats the reason for the price mark up? we go over it today!
Apparently a good amount of you guys actually read this far into the description. I want to elaborate on what I said yesterday because it seems it came off a bit depressing lol. Its not that Im not happy or something, I just feel like I can do better with my videos and be more creative but I've just been at a bit of a mental road block. I always try to be doing and filming new things and Ive been lacking on that lately. I am thinking about getting back into car reviews and just do fun stuff to provide some variety back into the videos. Thanks for all that expressed there concerns in yesterdays videos, but I assure you, Im not depressed or anything lol ! I think I am going to write in this more often, I feel like its my mini journal or something where I can just vent and its cool to know that people are listening. Ill talk to yall tomorrow

Key thing to note. The Sparco is a fixed back seat. It does not recline. That is one of the things required for FIA certification. It is intended to be used in a vehicle with a rollcage. It is not designed to work with the normal 3-point harness that comes in a car. On the street that seat can potentially be more dangerous because it interferes with the normal operation of the 3-point safety harness. That specific Corbeau is a street seat. It is not for racing. It is designed to work with your 3-point harness. On the track the reclining feature adds a failure point that could cause your 5- or 6-point harness to be meaningless.

If there is one thing you should never cheap out on, it's safety equipment. You never know when you might need it to work properly and buying knock off is a huge risk. Props to you TJ for getting some great seats for track use!

He weighed the corbeaus with the sliders and mounts on them, obviously the sparco is lighter but still not a fair comparison. And he said that the harnesses would be mounted to the seats… if he is running his car like this, I pray for this man and his safety.

Comparing apples to oranges. You put a sparco full bucket seat against a daily type of seat. If you were going to compare the styles of seats the best would be a track review and a street review. And focus on driver fatigue in both situations. A half bucket on the street allows more comfort for longer driving. But a track situation a full bucket holds the driver in place keeping side bracing down during cornering and braking. That saved a lot of energy when you are running long heats or several laps.

The Sparco EVO2 isn't much different then the Corbeau FX1. Almost the same. The extra cost is the FIA certification.

Once you get past the £300/400 mark, you're literally paying for the brand. As long as it fits you correctly, you're comfortable enough in it for what you want to do, it's certified, and the view restriction of the head rest suits your need (e.g. using the car on the road and for drifting you don't want long extensions at the side of your head), then that's all that matters.

You can't compare an actual fixed back racing seat to a reclinable sport seat. They are made for completely different purposes.
