This is because the person commenting is describing what happened in your video and therefore should use simple past tense. If, however, the person is describing his/her situation in the present, then present perfect can be used. However the sentence above is still incorrect. The verb in a present perfect tense sentence is required to be past particle, so therefore: "I haven't understood" You're welcome.
