5:43 - They just get to an inefficient spot in the map. Well said Steve. Another reason why this happens is because as the engine (particularly in a large 540 CI set up like this) revs faster there is less time for the air/fuel mixture (whether it's the ideal ratio or not) to get in and completely fill the cylinders because the valves are open for less and less time as the RPM increases. Without complete cylinder filling Torque will start to flatten out/off and so will HP; especially compared to the same engine running higher boost levels. The feature/phenomena of Torque and HP starting to flatten out/off (on the engine in question) when incomplete cylinder filling occurs is not so evident on this engine when it actually starts to happen but Steve points out features of the phenomena including how low the RPM is when the engine is at it's ideal crankshaft rotational speeds, when he mentions how low the RPM is when; (i) the engine is at its happiest; (ii) any RPM higher equates to the engine not running at it's optional crankshaft rotational speeds; (iii) the optimal air/fuel mixture occurs (iv) the location in the compressor map; and (vi) complete cylinder filling is achieved. Great engine Steve. Jim Stanley Ex AMG Powertrain Engineer.

All you have to do is modify the friction factor or a host of any other parameters. I would stand totally corrected if you posted ALL of your #'s not just what we see on the screen here. Way more to setting up a dyno and have it be correct, than what you are seeing here. IF anyone here wants to talk trash, talk to me after you have put out a reliable 1k engine.
