I have an idea for a lightsaber that can move quickly and deflect blaster bolts. Make the retractable stuff like in the toys, but out of tungsten and have the plasma go around it at each point where it extends from the hilt. That way the blade will stay one length while you swing it around. It should also be able to cut things more quickly.

what I'm most curious about is how it would be realistically feasible for the "blade" to (a) not waver when you swing it (b) not exude heat when held close to the face, or damaging light to the naked eye (c) not "break" when making contact with other objects this isn't a critique of course, what you've made is phenomenal.
