Build is looking awesome 🏁 I recommend a hydraulic lift cart from harbor freight and a 3/8 battery impact they make things so much easier

I’ve been meaning to get one of those carts. I just need to go buy one. That would make the process a lot easier. Same with the impact, I have an impact driver but not a dedicated 3/8” impact. It’s also on my list of tools to get.

Did you sand the powder coat off where the subframe bolts to the frame for ground?

At first I didn’t and that’s the main issue I was having. Once I did that, I was able to get the thing to crank over. I did it at the ground wire and motor mounts but initially I totally spaced between the frame and subframe.

Being an air/oil cooled engine, what thoughts do you take on deciding which oil to use? Are you doing a simple carb clean or carb rebuild for this build?

I have had people recommend that I use full synthetic since it’s an air cooled motor but I’ve always had good luck with using non-synthetic. I’ve always used maxima premium 10w40 and had great luck with it. I change it every couple races/rides and it seems to work good. For the carb, all I did was just clean it. Quad ran great and had no leaks or anything so no need to mess with it. Plus I rebuilt it not too long ago, so it shouldn’t need it.

We're did you get the adapter for you carburetor.

It was on the carb when I bought it. I think it’s just a custom billet adapter somebody made. There’s no markings on it or anything.

I have the 465 stroker it runs great but I wanted to upgrade the carburetor to a 450r I see your adapter on your carburetor that's why I asked. Thank you for answering me.
