You've got to be the most settled driver that I've ever seen. You drive like your having fun, which is very strange these days. Whenever I race people they get mad if they lose. Me I don't care about losing or winning, I go to the drag strip to have fun and meet good people, hopefully make a few friends. Keep up the great work my friend.

I wonder how useful those power upgrades are for off-road use. I've seen a lot of Forester XT off-road videos, but almost never ones that feature increased power output.
@JohnnyWishbone853 жыл бұрын
Because it's rarely very helpful. Turbos create power in a way that is mostly not useful for off-roading. It's much better to have a torque curve that slowly increases. Probably the most useful forced induction for an off-roader would be an electric supercharger, because you would have a lot of flexibility in how it engages.

In the end its all power to weight and traction. if the HC was stock, he has less rubber on the pavement driving the tires than the Subi, with 300 more hp, and 1000lbs more. most Hellcats on the stock all seasons won't hook until 80mph, maybe. with traction on, it cuts power and applies brake - so you won't even see black strips... not to mention - black key or red key and fuel choice? 😂

The SG is pretty light for an SUV and the power figure on yours is impressive. Yet, it's not the kind of "fast" you'd expect from 400HP, is it? It does look like a bulky bullet, impressive work! But I'm assuming that it may suffer from it's aerodynamics(or lack of) and the boxer not being as torquier as a same displacement/bore, same HP inliner. Then there's the pretty low rev limit and the short gears, which should be an advantage in matters of acceleration, but in the type of racing you engage and for your power curve, idk. I might be wrong. I'd love your insight on this thoughts. Keep it up, from a big Subaru fan!

I almost bought a Legacy GT in another state. It broke down on me 1h 43min into my trip. I was cruising and I didn't realize my turbo took a shit on me sometime after I left the Subaru dealer. They gave me a full refund and sent someone out to tow the car back. I have a non-turbo 03 Forester. It was so easy to drive! First time on the test drive I was rev matching. Such a comfortable car. It's a fun project. I really did want an XT just because it's the perfect Subaru sleeper, but they're impossible to find. I'm happy with what I have though. I love both. The S2000 is getting a much needed rest. I'm having fun doing a bunch of DIY on the Forester that I would never do on the S2000. Eventually I'll put up some track videos once I'm caught up with the maintenance.
