I need to start upgrading mine.. it needs more power and better handling. One critique on your driving.. stop taking the car out of gear after a pull. Keep it in there and let the car engine brake if anything, atleast. If you needed to brake, the car will slow down faster with the car in gear. Leaving the car in gear allows better control over the car, especially while cornering. This is minor, but it helps in fuel economy. Staying in gear allows you to accelerate quickly again if needed, instead of figuring out which gear to be in, then rev matching. Youll have to rev higher as well, since your coming from idle, so it makes it trickier. But those who cant rev match effectively or at all will slip the crap out of the clutch, putting extra wear on it. Or go up a gear or two after a pull.

Im currently rebuilding the engine in my '04 Forester XT because it spun a rod bearing. I ordered a brand new Stage 1 Shortblock (oem STI rod, oem STI crankshaft, and JE Forged pistons), and I bought a GrimmSpeed BB500 Turbo and Tomei equal length header and up-pipe. The car already had a full turbo-back Invidia 3" catless exhaust, gutted TGVs, Perrin intake tube, STI top mount intercooler, and a 3 port boost controller. I'm hoping to turn it up to 400whp after break-in, but I'll need new injectors and a fuel pump for that still. I might keep it tuned closer to 350whp though because its an automatic (4EAT transmission) and the limit of those seem to be around 350whp... either way though, its gonna be one fast wagon 😂

By chance did your tuner say what was holding you back from more power? Example, if you had fmic, forged internals, built heads/mild cam and ID1300 w/ all the fuel system goodies. Whats the absolute most power an FP blue will put out? What "psi" if every other supporting mod is done?

Sounds killer... I think you just convinced me to upgrade the turbo in my 2017! I have Whiteline suspension upgrades front to back. Sway bars, end links, and rear LCAs are money well spent. Hopwever, if you do install coilovers first you should consider purchasing the Whiteline bump steer kit. Made a world of difference. Great video!

I notice you throw it into neutral after a pull. Any benefit to that? I should of went flex fuel when I went stage 2+ on my WRX but I was already over budget. Hopefully my tuner can figure out a work around so I can go flex in the future. I have tgv/egr deletes and a V1 grimmspeed jpipe so I am stuck at my current power unless they find a work around. Currently making 330ish wheel on 93. Car sounds really good man.

I’m not to sure about any benefit but for some reason I like to think about letting her rest in rpm’s and cool down for a split second then letting her sit in the 5th or 6th over revving after a pull, thanks man appreciate it 🫡💯 hopefully your tuner can figure something out they should be able to give you a separate map to run e50s ! @@thesubiefam hey, just wanted to throw my .02 out there, you may want to rev the car up a few times if you do put it in neutral after a pull or brake quickly enough to let the car engine brake. Want to keep that oil pressure up for a bit longer after the pull. But the car sounds super sick bro, love it!

Hey man from Massachusetts! And full Boost comes in at 3800-4K everytime! Holds the 24lbs all the way to redline 👍🏻 feels like a completely different monster compared to the stock vf turbo I have the daily at about 300whp and the boost and the way the car drives is completely different, doing a bigger turbo makes it a much smoother and enjoyable experience!

I had a 9th gen 2014 civic si before my Sti and it was an amazing upgrade! Highly recommend if you can man ! 👍🏻

trust me... skip the wrx (with the fa20) and go straight to the STI. Had a 2016 wrx, enjoyed it for a bit, started to dislike it after a year or so. Test drove a 2019 STI and traded my WRX an hour later. Its a completely different feeling car. The one big positive though, coming from the wrx, is being able to appreciate the STI that much more.

I traded my Rsx type s for an Sti ....and it was definitely an upgrade, left the Sti on a stage 2 map,,,2 years later i soon needed a daily and bought another Rsx type s that's currently tuned on Hondata cuz I needed a daily and i missed that Go Kart feeling. But yea just go for the Sti not the Wrx. I got a couple vids on my channel.

Yess Stock block brotha! 😅 she sadly just hit the 60k mark ! Oil changed every 500-1500k miles because of running e85 so far so good 👍🏻 she’s been on the dyno multiple times since owning it with a few different setups!
