It’s honestly baffling how people manage to retire comfortably with the way 401(k)s perform. I thought I was doing fine, but my $600k balance has dropped to $350k in just two years. I’m 55-am I stuck working forever?

Before retirement, my portfolio was strategically allocated to ensure growth, stability, and accessibility. It consisted of 50% in diversified index funds with low expense ratios, 20% in bonds for stability, 15% in dividend-paying stocks, 10% in cash reserves for emergencies, and 5% in alternative investments, including REITs and some private equity. I collaborated closely with a financial advisor who tailored this strategy to my unique needs, ultimately enabling me to manage my finances effectively without relying on Social Security early.
