Also there is another APS trooper purposely drive head on to stop an escape car going the wrong direction in the interstate, so that other innocent drivers don't end up like here. Check out Arkansas State Police pursuits - they are much more aggressive and would have stopped this nonsense much sooner. They will PIT a car going 115 mph! I think in CA it has to be 35 mph or less.

No stop sticks when the vehicle is parked, just allow the dangerous driver to pull away and all PIT maneuvers were pathetic. The decision to utilize a PIT shall only be authorized when the potential risk of intervention is outweighed by the imminent danger caused by the suspect and/or blatant disregard for the safety of bystanders and other users of the highway. Unless exigent circumstances exist, the PIT shall not be attempted for the following: The pursued vehicle is traveling in excess of 35 mph; For a vehicle where the suspect(s) is known to be armed with a firearm; Vehicles transporting known hazardous materials; Significantly heavier vehicles (i.e. buses, motorhomes, semi-trucks); and Vehicles with a high center of gravity;

A coworker of mine was suspended for refusing to have a drug test when he was spotted by undercover police buying drugs from a street drug dealer in a company car when he returned to work that afternoon when he came back after the 30 day suspension, they would not let him go out in the field to do his regular duties anymore. They didn’t know what to do with him, this guy was in his mid-50s, had a house and kids, he had over 27 years seniority.. at the end of the day for me, one day, I was, went to the bathroom to wash up, and he was in there. I asked him because I’ve known him for decades, I said, george, were you buying crack? He whispered, yeah. I asked him “what’s it like?” he looked up towards the ceiling, as though he was seeing a vision, and he had a big smile and he had that thousand yard stare in his eyes.. he said to me with that euphoric look on his face “joe, you gotta try it” Within a year, he was fired, his wife left him, he lost the house.., And he was dead ..

Referring to the fleeing suspect as a "wrong-way driver" is incorrect. They weren't an innocent person. They were a suspect. It looks like FOX 11 LA could be framing the pursuit as the cause of the crash, rather than the suspect's high speed being the cause, especially in the context of their fleeing (as this implies worse control of the car, greater recklessness). They've already done this. The suspect is the focus. The suspect crashed. The police aren't the focus.
