Thanks for showcasing this, I wasn't aware of it and had stopped flying the 407 a long time ago,. Now with this mod it's in the top 5 of my helicopter stable, and I own almost all of 'em. It's EXACTLY what the 407 needed (well, short of working doors :) ). I haven't seen you cover it, but the jXt Bell 429 is another excellent freeware effort that has been getting regular updates and now supports the twin-engine flight model that SU15 brought us. Would certainly be very cool to get your thoughts or see you feature it in an upcoming video.

Nice video Joel! Ha! My least favorite realism breaking feature of helicopters in flightsims, is that they move around on the ground with pedal and cyclic input. That doesn’t happen with flat pitch…the disk moves when it’s flat on the ground, not the fuselage 😅

This is not true, especially for wheeled helicopters. If their nose or tail wheels are not locked they will weathervane badly if you are not on the controls. Even at flat pitch there is a hell of a lot of torque on the rotor system, and what keeps them from moving is the friction with the ground but if there isn't any such as on ice they very much will rotate counter to the direction of the rotor system if anti-torque pedal is not introduced.

For the future is you're going to do a sound comparison, don't cover it up with loud music. The sounds on the 206L3 are about right but the mod 407 is too quiet. I've worked around both RL and I can tell you that you can hear a 407 incoming from a long way out and on the ground, you don't hear just the blades, that R-R Allison makes a hell of a lot of noise.

Unfortunately the doors on 407 do not open.
