For those who doesn't know, 7900 xtx is extremely good overclocker. Got myself nitro plus after my 3080 10gig died recently,always been nvidia user, so this time went with AMD, so after playing with overclock at 2950mhz core and 2750mhz memory oc at 1.025v undervolt. Timespy gives 34707 points in graphics score and in timespy extreme it gives 17040 points, it's like +19% more performance compared to reference 7900 xtx at stock. There is a lot of horse power

Also worth adding that the amount of overclocking headroom you'll have varies by the card you get. If you buy a factory OC card, the headroom will be a lot less. Just wanted to add that to avoid disappointment.

@@jordanash asrock taichi aqua out there, that one is even higher tear 7900 xtx with that 600w unlocked bios. Some of 7900 xtx can install that bios aswell with some tinkering

Well I own both 4080 and 7900XTX and in summer you won't play with a 7900XTX blowing tons of heat out of the PC case right into your face and hotspot @90°c and drawing 512W out of your PSU. That's why I didn't go for the 4090. The 4080 was a sort of sweet spot between powerdraw, heat, noise and FPS.

Nice video mate , pleased with my 7900xtx hellhound especially for the price to performance ratio when compared with its rivals ,its quieter than my 3080 too . Always been a team green guy but the pricing policy is getting silly and the 16 pin pcie would mean redoing all my custom made cables .

Given what has happened to the price of the 4080 Super, realistically in the UK and many parts of the EU, based on cost, the choice is either 4070ti Super or 7900XTX. The 4080 Super is basically up another price bracket.

@@jordanash We can still buy off Amazon UK, they just add on the import tax from the UK to the EU. So this GPU is currently €1160 on Amazon UK. If I stick to the EU (no import tax) this exact model is available for €1060 on Caseking Germany. Which is also the average price for the 4070ti Super in the EU (€1050) The cheapest I could find the Inno3d 4080 Super for is €1307 from Amazon Germany. Which is a big jump in price. I've never bought an Inno3d GPU before, if I'm spending that much money, Id rather stick with a brand I have used before like Asus (I used to exclusively buy Evga for Nvidia until this gen). On the AMD side, I'd lean towards Asus and Sapphire. And Id be willing to try ASrocks more premium model such as the 7900xtx Taichi. If both the 7900XTX and the 4080 Super are the same price, I think its a no brainer win for the 4080 simply because of lower power draw, better RT performance and the superior upscaling technology. When there's a €150-300 difference in the price of the GPUs its a different value proposition. I don't think the superior RT performance and DLSS is worth that much extra.

Hey, you're welcome! So I've used a lot of Powercolor cards, those are great and more affordable. Sapphire have a good reputation too. This one has been great but it is one of the more expensive models.

Massive step in the VRAM front indeed but also in the Power Consumption. I'd much rather go for the 4070TiSuper or the 4080Super.

Completely agree on the power consumption thing, but it also depends on the 7900 XTX you get in terms of if it's worth the price jump. For instance, I snagged a PowerColor Hellhound 7900 XTX for $919.99. The cheapest 4080 Super I could get (as per PCPartPicker) is $1,149.99. Sure, it doesn't use as much power, but that's a big jump in price. The 4080 Super is a great card, but honestly, I would really miss my Radeon Chill feature in games.

@@VelcroSnake93 I am having this issue right now. I am planning an upgrade soon and I see the 7900 XTX Asus Tuf for € 1.058 but with a € 100 cashback. The cheapest RTX 4080 super I can find is the pro art version for € 1.149. Not sure what to get really, I am going to pair it with a 7800X3D and a the new Alienware Oled monitor 1440p 360hz version.

Can you take a deep dive on undervolting the Tuff 7800xtx. And see how well the wattage can be tamed?

I've not done much undervolting before, but I can look at it. It might be a while though, I'd want to be very comfortable with doing it myself first before teach others.

I'm thinking about buying this card, do you think my 750W PSU (Seasonic G12 80+Gold) can handle this card in combination with a 5800X3D, TUF X570, 2x M.2 Nvme's, 2 CPU Fans and 6 Case Fans? (I know you said 750W, on the Asus HP they recommend 850w)

Seasonic are absolute quality, I don't think you'll have an issue.

It can pull up to 450watts I think. You can use PBO to undervolt your cpu for a little headroom. The card can run much lower wattages as well. Adrenaline software has Hypr-rx Eco mode preset for games and you have the option to lower power limit, lower clocks, and undervolt the card from the tuning tab.

The fact that asus put a 2 slot bracket on these huge cards shows how far they go to cheap out on costs. Also thos display ports are 2.1

@jordanash I just find it ridiculous my sapphire 7900xt has a 3 slot bracket and a metal construction. It seems to me that the aib partners that also make nvida cards all apply the cost cutting measures to both types of card. Fair enough.

From what I've seen I think it's down to how they make the brace that spans the length, some of them more width so don't need the extra bracket support.

I agree with that. Sapphire Nitro+ has a sub frame that’s acting as vram heatsink bridge to the main heatsink which is the truest anti-sag structure. ASUS might be looking for better case compatibility with the two slot bracket but my opinion is also that it is insufficient.

Yeah, I don't see why not. I don't think you'll be able to get both of those without compromising the quality of the other parts though, seems too tight.

I was thinking of maxing out my build with this card, until I realized the dimensions wouldn't fit in my case (I have a push pull config so it uses up most of the space in my case. If it is not 286mm or shorter, it will not fit. Guess I'll go with the reference model card instead.

Oh if that's all it has then definitely upgrade it, don't risk stupid adapters or anything like that. To be fair is is a £/$1000 card, it deserves decent power.

The 7900 xtx is 5.7€ fps per euro while the 4080 8.4€ was it may fary for the prices where you live but these what i found

Returned my 7900 xtx Tuf OC; the temps were honestly junk, hitting 60C sometimes. Asus dropped the ball not having a vapour chamber on its AMD cards. Will be getting a Sapphire Nitro + Vapour X as it's replacement

Hitting 60? That's normal... Some of these go into 70 easily, they're designed to work under heat. Anything under 90 is fine.
