Happens. For what it's worth, once things have calmed down, we'll start seeing an actual discourse on whether or not the changes are good for the franchise or not. Unfortunately, some people on both sides are too polarized to see the potential merit and the potential demerit of the change. Luetin made an excellent video on it. In Round 3, when the Tank Commander died Death befitting an Officer does not allow to shot while being in Combat, because Big Guns never Tire only work in your own shooting phase. It does not work for out of phase shooting unfortunately (making it kinda bad)

RAW you could be correct but RAI it is absolutely fair for them to choose to play it this way in my opinion as GW has not clarified. Big Guns Never Tire is a core part of the shooting phase (It's not "triggered") and Death Befitting An Officer states that it can shoot "as if it were your Shooting phase" when destroyed and BGNT trigger "in the shooting phase" so it makes sense to treat it "as if it were your shooting phase" for those attacks, even it could (legitimately) be argued to be "out of sequence" (Wich is extremely dumb and makes no sense but that's my two cents) You would not get born soldiers tho because shoot on death abilities make you count as having moved.

GSC got some b.s. rules they can bring back squads so easily. If its going to be in their kit (no cp) then it should be limited to 1 squad can come back...after that it should cost increasing cp starting at 1 and goes up each time. It sucks all the strategy out of a game. Dont need a plan, just run up and take everything...it'll just come back. 0 consequences for bad plays.

I feel I need to be fair in my comment, both great players playing both armies well and to their limits, with sportspersonship, but I *hate* tournament-style play with long lines of spread out, utterly unrealistic, rules-as-written scout and deep strike - or any - deployments. Sorry. This is just the sort of game I want to watch.

Holy crap that camera angle when the basilisk killed the chimera at like 44 minutes in was super cool, much more dynamic and engaging than The VFX you overlay (those are still cool. Don’t get me wrong, but their dynamic camera angle shot was really phenomenal.)

Free codex is available on warhammer community downloads page. Just print the cards yourself. No need to buy the index cards if you don’t want to.

@@pantsmage970 everything is under the downloads section. The points and errata (rules update) as well as the entire Core rules are there. As for the game board, you can use any table of appropriate size, and random objects for scenery. Edit: 6-sided dice and a small tape measure are also a must.

You can get and print the rules from Warhammer Community (Index + Imperial Armour) or on Wahapedia for a cohesive online database of everything. Both of these feature all the info just differently, the index cars are more visual and Wahapedia is more generic

Aren't scout moves done after deciding who gets first turn? Also the tank commander is not allowed to shoot on death because it would be shooting out of melee range which out-of-phase rules does not allow.

Yes, the scout moves should have been done after deciding who was going first. The redeploys were done correctly, scout was not. The Tank Commander can in fact shoot on death. Being in melee has no bearing on that. It's ability says it can shoot as if if it was the owner's shooting phase, and as a vehicle, it has access to Big Guns Never Tire, just meaning that it has a -1 to hit. That being said, she only hit 3 shots on the acolytes with the demolisher battle canon, I don't know why he removed 4.

@@MrHoneuma Out-of-phase rules don't allow you to use the perks you get in your shooting phase, Big Guns Never Tire is a perk since it states "Monsters/Vehicles are eligible to shoot in their controller's shooting phase while within engagement" meaning your shooting phase only. Which is weird GW needs a rules clarification or an example to sort this out. I got this info from the judge commenting on this exact scenario on the video "Wargames - Adepticon Warhammer 40k Champs Day 1" in the 6 hours 7 min mark.

@@drizzziit1 it’s GWs “Out-Of-Phase” rules that is causing the confusion. Even though BGNT is a core part of the shooting phase, the “Out-Of-Phase” rules restricts what you can do. The only example they give is Fire Overwatch from a whirlwind which states “does not trigger any other rule that would normally be used in your shooting phase” which includes BGNT. Since “Shoot On Death” rule is also Out-Of-Phase rule and doesn’t say we can use BGNT, this applies too. Also our detachment rule states that Born Soldiers lethal hits when stationary is only active until the end of the turn so we wouldn’t have access to it outside of our turn.
