It’s like ever few episodes you guys add something new that adds to the quality. Interesting. While I agree that it is very well edited from a technical perspective, I completely dislike the structure. It's set up like those god awful American reality TV shows with the talking head segments giving completely disingenuous reactions... It assumes the audience is dumb. I don't know why they dont just show their genuine reactions in the moment rather than getting them to try to artificially recreate it later. More work, less pay off. But hey. Each to their own.

I personally am not bothered by their scripted reaction/commentary cutaways since they don't feel as egregious as other examples, and they still "sound" like the guy's natural voices and not too forced. One of the problems that I have seen with the other 40k batrep channels who use a more long-form uninterrupted style is that a lot of times the player's in-the-moment natural reactions can start to come across of very repetitive and samey over the course of a multi-hour long game. When you are caught up in moment of playing a long game like 40k, you are not always thinking of varying your reactions to repeats of "oh no I failed a save" or "oh no, that charge did not make it". Play On's faster editing style does have the benefit of allowing them to pick and choose to only show what are perceived as the"best" reactions across the whole game and cutting out the ones that do not really add that much to the show. As much as it kinda pains me to say it, your average modern audience member's attention span has shrunk, and making the batrep more digestable is a smart decision.

Great battle report! Few corrections: 1. Commisar order gives FNP only against mortal wounds 2. In this Angron situation, you should always use "Remain Vigilant" order, which denies deep strike in 12-inch bubble, absolutely massive 3. Angron have wings! He does not suffer -2 charge from the crater

Ever since I added the new Rogal Dorn tank to my Brood Brother detachment for my Genestealers army, I’ve been tempted to start an Astra Militarum army (I already had 3 Leman Russ tanks for same). Seeing this match with both the RD and LR tanks in action has made it even more tempting, and frustrating, because I can’t use both tanks in a single Auxiliary Support detachment. On the flip side, the World Eaters army looks awesome too. This is what GW does to us!

Does Angron have the "Monster" keyword? Would be weird if not but if he does, doesn't that mean he ignores terrain movement modifiers? So you wouldn't need to add 2 inches to moving on/through that terrain? Also, Angron has the fly keyword so the penalty would matter anyway. This is the second batrep i've watched (first was a different channel) where basic WE rules have been missed and where it has really affected the game.

Actually the rule specifically notes that units that fly ignore it. @@crackpotmike 9th is complicated, and in short FLY doesn't matter when it comes to vertical terrain on charges. If a unit’s datasheet has the FLY keyword, then when it makes a charge move, its models can be moved across other models (and their bases) as if they were not there, but they must move over terrain features (including BUILDING units) like any other model. A model that can FLY cannot finish any move on top of another model. Look at it this way. Mubin made an extreme risk with Angron yeeting him up the board t1. He could have played with the reserve shenanigans, but the way Mubin's list was oriented was literally "I yeet Angron across the board, and I nail my first charge roll turn 1 and immediately win, or I miss it and probably lose." If Mubin's angron chuck was a legit top tier strategy, I wouldn't be playing this game anymore.

I was pretty sceptic about the blood tythe points mechanic, but it actually looks pretty fun. It's quite thematic, unique, doesn't look that frustrating actually and most of all seems to be a perfect mechanic to counterbalance the weaknesses of an all melee army

I usually just watch 40K lore content and avoid tabletop stuff since I don't know the rules, but you guys made it really easy to follow what was happening and enjoy watching even if I didn't get the minutiae. Everything went smoothly and 40 minutes was over before I knew it despite what I'd heard about the length of 40K matches.

Hmm so Angron doesn’t have a revive limitation like every other unit with revive. Wonder how long that rule ability will last? Seems quite strong considering he can deep strike from strategic reserves, judging by how he revived the first time, gets +1 to his charges.

Most other units that revive don’t have a cost associated with them, you’ve gotta spend 6 BTPs each time you do it… if your opponent is actually able to kill angron more than twice then your wasting your BTPs by bringing him back wilynilly.

Because the army cant compete without it...did you see anything else from the other untis?`the rest of the army was running 3 rounds over the table to start killing something and dieing immediately....without the ablity of Angron this game were finished after turn 3.

@@Swampert919 Probably not since he can pop in and charge whatever killed him. He is basically guaranteed to kill any non-Lord of War unit in a single fight phase. Consider what he managed the two times he came back here 1) Killed a Leman Russ and Hellhound in one fight phase (total 260-300 points worth of units depending on their loadouts) 2) Killed 3 bullgryn, an armoured sentinel and the Rhogal Dorn tank (at least 400 points, likely more with loadoats). Angron's returning pretty much killed half of Nicks army *by itself* - no support, no other units around. Yes there may be circumstances where it ends up being wasted, unlucky charges or really lucky overwatch. However in real terms, it costs nothing to do - blood tithe is a resource you are earning from everything. I think it would make sense to cap it to a once per game ability like all the other resurrection skills. Does not make sense that the cheapest of the Primarch's should be by far the hardest to remove from the board.

@@christophervennix9861 angron killed half of his army and yet they lost, he is just a single model and funnelling all of your BTPs into him means your only winning one fight on the board while the rest of your army dies, that won’t win games… World eater units are balanced around having access to the Blood tithe system, they are strong when you utilise it, but when you don’t they aren’t that good. Funnelling points away from your army and into resurrecting angron means your army will struggle to compete, and with angron dying each turn because the rest of your army isn’t killing or drawing any attention (or is already dead) that means your now in a loose loose situation, resurrect angron again and loose on points, or get tabled and loose. There isn’t much point in trying to cap angron’s res when resurrecting him that many times is only going to be used in for fun games (like this one) or in massive apocalypse scale games where you’ve got too many BTPs coming in not to. If he’s too strong a point increase will be more than enough instead. (Also guardsmen have an order that forces deepstrike to be 12 inches away, if Nick wanted to it would have been pretty easy to stop him from deploying anywhere good on that first resurrect).

@ Dennis Keßler: The WE player made a few mistakes like not taking transports, though not sure if possessed type units can use them. He could have also placed his 8 bound in reserves to get them closer for charges. The board itself was very guard friendly with lots of easy sight lines that would make any melee army have lots of issues. The WE player marched all of his berserkers up the table instead of in transports. If the table terrain had been more balanced, I doubt Nick would have deleted as much as he did and Angron would have basically deleted more than what was able to fight.
