Unfortunately Nick messed up his weapons a tad. Forgot his Destroyer missiles on the big unit (no longer a 1 shot thing). Might have helped a wee bit. And Pathfinders pulse carbines are 2 shots, rifles are longer with 1 and rapid fire.

Yeah the audio stuff does sound like it’s a power issue, somewhere you have mic cables and power cables next to each other?

If you have audio and power cables running bundled together for your studio set up you can sometimes have issues, donno if that could caus that crackle or popping but throwing out random thoughts haha…

Pretty sure the devilfish wouldn’t have been able to fire the seekers becuase it wasn’t guided to get the assault keyword right? Plus Nick forgot to shoot his fireblade/drones in the first turn 😂

Thank you guys for helping me through my journey of getting back into warhammer! I've gone from a lonely box of ork boyz to 3 1000 point armies of orkz, tau and necrons! Just love your vids and the feel good atmosphere! Played my first game the other day as well, necrons vs alpha legion.. blew up a terminator with a scarab 😂😂😂

I think its the "nerf" option, and I'm glad you mentioned it.. I've been mentioning it on other channels and in discords with my friends (FIY I play Tau) I just see why you will need to bring gun drones or marker drones moreso now and obviously it more focused on certain units.. i.e. stormsurge cant use montka assault but still gets lethal

I know super late since this has been out, but when you have popping and distortions like that, I find that its a ground issue in the Mic port or at the mic connection on the cable. Great content regardless!!!

In answer to Tycho's question at around 1:01:20, you CAN pile into a unit you didn't charge if those models are the closest. The rule that prevented it in 9th no longer exists. Also, since pile in happens on activation, it prevents an enemy from using their fight first rule.

What are you talking about? A defending player with fights first always fights first. If you're outside of engagement range in the first place you can't legally end a charge move there. Inversely, you can't end a move within engagement range without charging. (Unless you have an ability that allows you to), so I don't know what you mean by playing around fights first? Because there really isn't.

@@RealPucciMane It’s a little hard to explain without visuals, but I’ll give it a shot. Let’s say you have a squad of punchy marines, and the enemy has two units of elves close together, one group of regular elves and one of fights first elves. You declare the regular elves as your target and roll your charge and succeed. The punchy marines that have enough movement to base the regular elves have to, but the models that can’t base only need to end closer to the regular elves, not as close as possible, just closer. This means you are allowed to position your punchy marines closer to the fights first elves than the regular elves, as long as your punchy marines are now closer to the regular elves than they were before the charge. They also have to stay out of engagement range of the fights first elves because they were not a declared charge target. During the fights first step of the Fight Phase, the fights first elves are not in engagement range of any enemy models and can thus not be chosen to fight (activate). When your punchy marines are selected to fight, part of that is the pile-in move. Pile-in states you move 3” towards the nearest enemy model. Because of how the punchy marines were positioned, many of them are closer to the fights first elves than the regular elves, so that’s who they will pile into. You then roll your attacks as normal, meaning you are fighting before the fights first elves.

@Ezcendant What you're describing is how wrapping and trapping works. Also depending on a second unit without fights first to be within 3" to be able to get around that is highly situational at best.

@@RealPucciMane It's doesn't really have anything to do with wrapping and trapping... You're just getting in a position to make sure you can pile it to a desired target that you didn't charge. Encircling them isn't the goal, and would probably be impossible given the movement limitation of this technique. I wouldn't say 'highly' but yes, of course it's situational. 40k is won and lost based on movement and positioning. Getting into the right position and exploiting the bad positioning of your opponents is the key to winning high level games. All your tactical decisions should be situational and being able to leverage a niche technique is a massive advantage. Even in this game, while the second unit didn't have fight first, it still would've ensured that the second unit couldn't fight before Tycho's unit attacked because it wouldn't be able to activate.

Hmmmm is your phone near your receiver of your microphone? Bending cables over time in any direction causes sag and may cause interference or the female/male part of the connectors maybe have dust or debris? Maybe an oring is missing or something is out of spec connector wise other than that emi has to be it

It says tau empire. Which the kroot have the keyword for. So I think we’re good.

I've tried to find the exact wording but all I can find is the Auspex Tactics video explaining the codex and in it is that it says "non-kroot" units but if they changed it since then or I'm wrong then that's that.

@@skimshooter9969 the exact wording is "Target: One T'au Empire unit(excluding kroot units)" and "each time a T'au Empire unit (excluding kroot units)" so technically can be used with vespid.

Do we have a date when everything is supposed to be released yet? Any recommendations for an up and coming Tau player?

Not PlayOn obviously but I can help! No set date, most likely 4-5 weeks (Maybe 4th or 11th of May) if we're getting a similar release schedule to the Dark Angels. Generally, your best bet are Crisis Suits, Commanders or Farsight, Fire Warrior Breachers + Devilfish, Broadsides and Skyray Gunships (Which are made with the Hammerhead Gunship kit). Riptides are always super awesome but their rules in 10th are much worse than their rules in 9th. No idea how our Kroot units will perform just yet! EDIT: But, remember, build what you want and think looks cool; you'll be more motivated to paint and at the end of the day this game is about super cool armies shooting or beating the shit out of each-other. I also find learning HOW to use your army is much more important than what's actually in it. You could have the best list in the world but if you don't know the basics it doesn't matter. Lots of KZbin videos to help and check out r/tau40k on reddit

Why do we (t'au players) have to have a bs debate again? Should have learned from the daisychain bs and not try to interpret somethin into the mon'ka rule that is not there. Please just use gun drones where you can. And if you think it's meant different send an email to GW and wait till they FAQ it.

to be fair a lot of the units in Nicks army have assault from gun drones anyway in this list, but I do agree that it should be played as written for the moment until it is addressed by GW.

But to go with it, if you do that most 40k players I played against so far are really nice people, who I suppose all would go with the better Version for the t'au Player just to not be the salty or "not nice" player. Do you see the Problem?

@@KhanjoOfEthiopia no, don't assume that. Sorry if it read like that, englisch is not my native language, I try again. If the t'au Player decided to bring it up before a game, due to insecurity about that rule or whatever, he practically putts all the responsibility on his opponent. The t'au Player will probably accept every desicion his opponent makes but in my eyes giving the responsibility to my opponent is not really fair because that is not his responsibility in the first place. Many opponents will decide for the better rule for the t'au Player cause they are nice people and want to settle that so they can play the actual game. This results in the t'au player being fine with playing a rule that may not be the actual rule. The responsibility of both players is to know their armys rules as good as they can so that their opponent can trust them to know what they do. Don't get me wrong here, having a discussion about a rule with another Player is absolutly fine for me, but in this case, where there is a perfectly fine rule written down and an assumption on the other side, thats not something to bring up 5 minutes before a game. Hope that explain my position better.
