Till this day il try to find out why Failbaddon didnt just blow up the Planet in the first place... i mean from a strategic standpoint with his ressources and with his goals in mind it would make more sense anyway... What was the fall of Cadia? Short and sweet. Abaddon launched 3 waves of attack and decided to ultimately say "fuck this" and flew a Blackstone Fortress Into the planets surface, If you don't know what that is, it's a big fuck off space station built by some old alien race. The planet then got split into chunks from the collision by Blackstone-kun and the aftereffects ended the lives of everyone still planet side.... Oh, and the Blood Angel's got wrecked nearly as hard as their primarch and Saint Celestine got a power buff.

Not the First and Only, but yes, Guard regiments from Tanith (I'm guessing it was the second or third who never made it off-world before Tanith went boom?). This was mentioned in Gathering Storm: Fall of Cadia (along with some Heresy-era Space Marines and a Custodian Guard)
