I think frankly it’s underrated how dangerous the legion was considering within it magnus and without any warning or assistance from their fleet they managed to inflict heavy losses on the wolves custodies and sisters of silence

Richter Belmont LOL!, I KNOW I’ve obsessed about this to death but will someone please explain away to me Ahriman behaviour when he encountered a lone Blood Raven Librarian, his immediate reaction wasn’t to kill the “evil degenerate corpse worshipping loyalist fanatic” or simply rip any knowledge out of his skull leaving him a drooling zombie as he has done soo many times. Instead after carefully and nostalgically observing his heraldry he did the equivalent of earnestly enquiring “are you eating enough?!” like a recently recontacted Estranged Parent wanting to score points over a divorced partner. Possibly “lonely” due to the lack of intellectual companions he would have happily integrated them into his war-band and then explained as much as possible to them…if it wasn’t for those flipping knife eared clown worshippers!

One area that doesn’t make sense to me: One assumes the Custodians and Sisters of Silence were aware of the Emperor’s orders to Leman... so why did they not dispute Leman’s change to those orders at Horus’ request? Did they trust Horus as well?

While I don’t agree that #MagnusDidNothingWrong, the Sons’ fall to Chaos was incredibly tragic and easily preventable. Really the only reason they turned was because Horus took advantage of the animosity the Emperor and the other primarchs had towards Magnus and the Sons. If the Emperor hadn’t punished Magnus, the Sons would still be fighting for the Imperium today.
