I remember the first warhammer 40k battle I ever witnessed was between Tyranids and orks. It's the first and only time I've ever seen anybody fire a missile at a unit in front of them and end up blowing up a unit *behind* them after a combination of failure to accurately gauge distance and then having the scatter dice screw them so utterly thoroughly. It's also the only time I've ever seen anybody use the tactic of driving a vehicle straight into the middle of the enemy army and then try desperately to blow it up.

Firstly, that is the best background you've had so far. That could be in one of the codexes or books. My praise to the artist. Also, this was perfectly timed. GW released in the Kill Team preview for Orks a few days ago. As soon as I saw you could make an all-Gretchin kill team, I donned my officer's cap and got to work converting a kill team of old Gretchins, humming the Russian national anthem. GLORY TO THE REVOLUTION!!!

Gorkamorka's backstory was actually the *first ever* reference to the Necrons. It didn't mention them by name, however. Actually the only clue in the book that indicated what the danger of going near the pyramids actually was, is a single piece of artwork of a truck full of orks driving toward the distant pyramids. Conspicuously, a pile of rubble in the foreground includes an obvious metal skull (recognizable in hindsight).

Technically I seem to recall the mekboyz creating one set of tags and then proclaiming that anyone having ONE of them would be on the ship when it left, and orks, being orks, figured that the more you had, the better off your chances would be, and as such started stealing them off each other. But then again, it was ages since I played this last XD

Arch there was a gorkamorka video game in the works in the year 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. It as going to be a racing game with shooting elements with a teef mechanic. Never got past the pre alpha stage of development.
