So for GW to go the: "Look at Farsight, the renegade offshoot of the main T'au Empire falling to Chaos! It's just like the Horus Heresy! Look! They are so similar!" would literaly kill all my interest in the hobby. I just think that EVERYTHING having to revolve around Chaos, because no one can resist them for some reason, is just so boring to me. Just let one Character/Faction in this setting be legitimate good guys, please GW. Of coure, this is just my opinion.

I don't think you all fully read or comprehended the Reiver changes. They have a passive -1 forced battleshock in engagement AND they now have a -1 OC aura, which is HUGE. They were not nerfed at all.

And there's no floor to that OC debuff. You can make stuff OC 0. Plus, with the regular Phobos Lt., you can deep strike, move after shooting, and still charge. The Lieutenant doesn't have the rider that you can't charge. They seem legitimately solid now

The only thing that I can think of that didn't get hit by the "6 inches is the new 3 inches" thing was, weirdly enough, a special Crusade relic for Custodes that allows a 3" deep strike. Given that the balance dataslate never touches Crusade rules whatsoever, this isn't surprising, but I'll probably play it as a 6" deep strike just in case. Also Jetbikes are back let's GOOOOOO

Ok, not to get too deep into it, but the AoC change is huge. Its gigantic for any tournaments setting against marines. It finally puts an end to the "AP 3 is just AP 1 lol" because you can threaten something with multiple units and you dont have to find a backup target for every gun in those two units. Because yes, AoC did sometimes make things almost unkillable for a phase (e.g. AP 2-3 ranged weapons against 2++ in cover)

This month has been so good. Just got a new car(it kinda sucks but i didnt have to finance) i got a goated detachment for stodes. My favorite space marine models got buffed(reivers and shrike, please let shirke lead them gw) and the bikes that have been sitting on a table collecting dust for my stodes are good now. the world eaters change was because people were doing an extremely funny thing where they'd use the Go to Ground strat on a big brick of jakhals to give them a 6+ invuln save, which then became a 4+ invuln save with the demon prince, and then use other rules to give them a 5+ FNP in addition to that. it was something like two people ever did in tournaments, purely as a bit, so obviously GW went after that instead of doing anything to improve khorne berzerkers, the primarily selling point of the army whose only current role is to give the master of executions 20 extra wounds anyway, bitching aside, thank you berilio for your service

As a newer daemons player, I’m loving the screamers changes. They were one of my favorite models in the game, and I tried using them where I could (they got pigeonholed into being action monkeys mostly). But I’m super happy to see them get damage buffed. Also maybe it’s just stockholm syndrome from the combat patrol, but I honestly haven’t thought bloodletters were too bad. By themselves they aren’t good, but khorne has a lot of tools to buff them up between the rendmaster, bloodmaster, and skulltaker. It’s always funny teaching someone new that my battle line infantry that just deep striked into their back line are my anti-tank.

Technically you can get that +1 to wound on Outriders from Oath even in the Liberator detachment. The +1 from Oath applies if you aren't taking any non-compliant _units_. Feel free to take any other detachment though. On the other hand you could just take a chaplain - he also gains the +1 to strength and damage, and absolutely wrecks shop in Liberator. Give him a squad of Outriders and the right enhancement, and he can delete knights...

The armor of contempt makes it so armies with mass lower AP firepower don't have to spend the resources to take down a bully type unit. My Admech are happy in the local meta against a lot of people who spam termies and I have mostly Ap 1 and 2 stuff to fire off.

Bricky saying he doesn't know of when popping armour of contempt made something unkillable... Bricky has never played Admech Vs a power armour faction. AOC on 2+ armour saves against Admech literally translates as "you can shoot your entire army at this unit and it will still be standing at the end of the phase." In roughly half my tournament games with Admech, such a situation used to occur. 5 Deathwing Knights can legit tank my entire army if using AOC in cover, and it basically invalidates the army rule buff to Admech of +1AP near battleline, because AP-1 cover ignoring does absolutely nothing once AOC is dropped, and that's about 80% of Admech profiles. Speaking of Admech, the new detachment isn't broken. It's actually a bit weaker than Skitarii Hunter Cohort in practice.

I recently had like 900 points worth of my Aeldari lined up against a 10-man of terminators that popped AoC. Shuriken Cannons, Web Spinners, Bright Lances, Pulse Lasers, Lasblasters, a Vyper stripping cover, both my big jetbike brick and my Swooping Hawks rerolling all their hits. Sure, my opponent also kinda spiked his saves, but I killed 3. Three Terminators went down to half my army unloading into them.

Skari put the drukhari scourge change pretty nicely. We dont have an alternative for heavy fire support. Everything else dies too quickly. Also see predator reroll change. If you thought reroll damage roll of 1 is useless. Go read a ravagers ability "reroll a hit roll of 1 agaisnt starting strength."

This! Scourges are the only viable heavy weapon Drukhari have. When every single unit is made of paper, of course we're spamming the one datasheet that can pop behind a wall at the slightest risk of getting coughed on. And it's not even like they are all that effective either. 4 lances hitting on 4s, possibly empowered with rerolls, will still often fail to kill whatever they might be pointed at.

Just wanted to mention how the Tyrand Guard point buff is actually pretty nice in conjunction with the assimilation swarm buffs. The tyrant guards are very tanky for how cheap they are and being able to ressurect one each turn while pushing foward makes them really strong defensivly. Combine that with a psychofage and a venomtrope and they become even more tanky with a stealth and feelnopain 6+. Support them with a hive tyrant with Parasitic Biomorphology(+1 to strenght and attacks after killing a unit) you now can now run 6 tyrant guards with a combined 18 attacks,+4 to hit, strenght 10 with twin link and 2 damage. They become a must kill murder ball and spiral out of control if they get on top of your enemy because of free strategems from the hive tyrant to regen anyone who dies

A big issue with Tau’s Ret. Cadre can be fixed by increasing the Fusion blaster’s range from 12” to 14”. You still aren’t in AP range but you are still in Melta range so you are still getting the extra damage. It at least makes the 2CP stratagem worth something other than using it on Farsight for his ability.

The assimilation swarm buff makes the parasite of mortrex horrific because if you get him on an infantry unit you basically get d3 rippers a turn sooooo now you can make an unkilable swarm that won’t stop healing

T'au did *not* deserve the treatment we got this time around. I don't need the actual 3" deep strike, but they could have just made the AP bonus threshold to 7" instead of 6", so it was still active when you use the strat. Or at least reduce the 2cp to 1. Maybe even both, it's not like we were the reason the nerf was needed in the first place.

Note that the Oath of Moment change specifies not having a divergent chapter unit, not using one of their detachments, while in some cases this is meaningless (you're never going to see Black Templars without a Black Templars model) there's some potential here for the other three, it's entirely possible to assemble a Dark Angels, Blood Angels or Space Wolves list without a unit that is keyworded to those chapters. Or in short, if you play a Dark Angels, Blood Angels or Space Wolves detachment/army without any keyworded units, you still get the +1 to wound against the Oath target. Now of course this is all dependent on my reading of it being correct, but in the very least this seems to be the way things work out RAW?

The thing that annoys me most about GSC resurgence points is they made it a hot dog and bun problem where you can end up with points you can't spend. If I'm playing outlander claw and bring back jackals then I can end up with a single point just laughing at me. If there was some mechanic or new character (please no more characters) that could give you resurgence points then I would have no problem.

Funny thing, RAW, you CAN still get the +1 to wound against the OoM targets while using divergent detachments, as the rule requires that you use no units that have the respective faction keywords, and none of the detachments specify that units get those faction keywords (this is also supported by the fact that BT cannot use the default tanks, but only the ones with their faction keyword). So as long as you do not use chapter specific units you can indeed get 5 attacks, 7 strength, -1 AP, 2 damage chainswords for outriders on the charge WITH the +1 to wound. Up to you to decide if it is worth it to not take the unique units in turn for the +1 to wound
