Love the channel. As a rusty pilot, I enjoy seeing your flow with the various planes. Having worked as a medic on an air ambulance Navajo, this video brought back some memories (flying both right seat and back seat). And looking into some current flying options, it’s cool to see the wide variety of aircraft on your channel.

Hello. I’m not a pilot, but I’ve been enjoying your videos for sometime. I’m not sure I would do my PPL; I’m not too good with heights, but I’ve heard quite a few pilots aren’t too happy with heights until they get to control a plane.. my question is: why do many planes have winglets on the edge of the wings, what advantages do they give? Many thanks and keep up the great videos.
@FlyingwithRich3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Winglets can increase performance (mostly fuel economy) with aerodynamic efficiency. I believe larger aircraft benefit more. They look cool too!

Was there an issue with retracting the gear? Seemed like the handle didn’t stay up the first time? Never flown a Navajo, got a little time in a Cheyenne, like a Porsche of the sky!

Man, that paint looks like candy. All the "big" twins are gone (piston). I would think a big cabin twin would sell well today. If you can afford one, fuel price is not a concern.

Maintained a fleet of Chieftains in Alaska for 13 years thru the 90's, damn fine aircraft, would really like to see somebody put a set of the new Lycoming 580's or even the 720's on one. The Chieftain is the only cabin class piston twin, that could handle 135 operations in Alaska.

Your fuel calculations are off a bit. The Navajo CR 325 hp is 18 gph per side in cruise and the Chieftain with io540-j2bd stock engines is 20 gph per side. @ 31in mp/ 2400 rpm at 10k ft
