@@PastPreserver Hiya, I checked and it was there but it was never attached to the seat. The end got caught in the blade belt and ripped off. The bungie for the battery is in place :)

Just purchased my Bad Boy Magnum 54” Kohler 25hp last week. This is a new one with the seat and battery upgrade. Only cutting about 1 acre weekly. Like it so far over other brand Z machines I owned. Got it on sale at TS for $3800 for that price it is a good deal. Good info and description.

I have bought that same BadBoy ZTR but I bought mine from a regular dealership that sold nothing but mowers and tractors things like that not a box store like tractor supply company, Lowe's, walmarts, Atwood's, if you need parts for them or you need to get them serviced the dealer is where you can do this, you can not get these things done at the other places like that plus the service is a whole lot better also and the price is the same, I've had mine for three years and have not had to do anything to it but to change oil, plugs, filters, and sharpen the blades and I have twenty acres which was farm ground and then pasture land, I don't mow the whole twenty but I do mow two big yards and the ditches with it, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one either but, I've been thinking about stepping up to the maverick or renegade or elite it doesn't really matter but I might do some mowing jobs and I would want to mow a little faster if need be

Great review. I agree, the battery hold down design is very poor. It seems that belt replacment on all monern machines is difficult. It does sound like a good machine for the price

Great review. I have one that's 2 yrs old with 51 hrs on it. For the most part I like it except for a couple exceptions. I purely hate the brake location (also the zerk fitting on the bottom for the cable) a pain in the a** to get to, sorry, sorry design. I mow approx 3 acres twice monthly or more often depending on grass growth and its been great so far, however, it is bad on inclines which I have in my pasture. With this being said, I am picking up a new Rebel tomorrow to mow the hill and have servicable trans (4400s) and Kawasaki engine, (no dislikes for the Kohler tho, been great). When I bought my MZ Magnum, it was $3500 just 2 yrs ago, inflation is a B*tch, don't ask what I'm paying for the Rebel, ouch! Do I Like Bad Boy mowers, you bet, I've had John Deeres, Cub Cadets, Yard Machines and more through my 75 yrs and so far, the Bad Boy has been the best. Ok so dont wanna harp on this too much but a cheaper mod for ground speed would be to change the drive pulley pretty sure they have one on thos guys and when you change tire size bigger or smaller your changing the pitch of the deck also stick a level on it its going to be leaning forwards slightly i bet or well i know. Can make the tip of your blades wear out even faster than normal. And the tips of the blades will wear out no matter what faster than normal its important to keep the deck lever cause your also basically getting a second cut towards the rear of the deck with the blade thats your missin when its angles towards the front... I bet of you foxed that angle issue you wouldnt have as many problems running wide open.... Now im not against or for these mowers however i just got one today probably cut 300 feet with it today so idk i decided to let my grass get taller my last mower the hydraulic deck lift quit working so it cut to the ground almost maybe a half inch tall wanna cut my 10 acres at 2.5-3 inches to let it heal up from the 6 years of abuse!

They did fix the wing nut issue and replaced it with a bungee cord on the new ones plus a seat strap to not let the seat fold all the way down and mess up the top of your seat

Trac Sup has them on sale, about 3900 out the door. Bought one. Love it so far but need to figure out how to get a smoother ride out of it. I mow Az Prairie grass, 5 ac, over lumpie ground. Rough ride. 100% disabled Vet at 76, but I'm still truck'n on. Thankks.

Most parts on the bad boy are easy to service but have you ever tried to grease the drive motor belt tension pulley? I've not found any way to grease that damn thing without taking it off. Mine is a 54 inch magnum bad boy. If they had reversed the grease plug it would've been easy to get to, but instead, they've got it pointing to the front of the mower and trying to grease it is impossible without taking the pully off. Do you know any way to get to the grease plug easier than what i've described?

What color wire goes to the hour meter? My meter was bad when I bought this used and when I bought the replacement meter and put the original wire back on it reads RPMs not hours. Can anyone help here? I have tried looking it up and have been unable to find it.

Hmm it's supposed to read the rpm while the engine is running and the hours when it's shut off. The wire looks to be brown from what I can tell. It seems to be the only one with a single spade connector. Maybe the internal battery in the meter is dead?

The meter is new, I don't care what the RPMs are since I don't watch those at all. I do however like to keep an eye on the hours for oil changes and such. I will check the wire color today and let you know how it works out. Thanks.

Where did you get the angled muffler tip??

I found it in my Grandpa's old shed lol. Most auto part stores have tips like this on hand just measure your pipe first to make sure it will fit your application. Defently a good upgrade.

If you flip the right handle and put it on the left side in the left on the right that'll give you more clearance for your thighs
