18:00 So, Bonnie Hunt worked with Mark Derwin, Holly Wortell and Don Lake on two sitcoms seven years apart? They also appeared together on Hunt's 2002-04 ABC sitcom "Life with Bonnie".

Oh my God, the memories. Caroline in the City, Drew Carey, Pinky and the Brain, Kirk, Brotherly Love, Cleghorne, Jeff Foxworthy, Moesha, The Single Guy, Bless This House, Maybe This Time, Can't Hurry Love...I wasn't a regular watcher of them all, but I remember the theme songs and the commercials and the TV Guide articles. (And man, I forgot how catchy The Single Guy's theme was.)

It was a really good show at the start - but the rebrand was kinda boring. When they tried to tie up loose ends of the first half season - they looked out of place in the new Dynasty/Dallas/Falcon Crest they were trying to create. I believe this disconnect alienated both demographics they were trying to attract in the retooling. Also, Lauren Hutton should never be given acting work - she's a terrible actress.

Cop Shows are usually a stock bet (or were) Friends was the "IT" show from the previous Season so of course they'd try to clone it John Grisham's The Firm, Pelican Brief, and The Client had all been adapted as films a few years prior and one can safely draw a line from 92's A Few Good Men directly to JAG (By way of Top Gun*) * You'll never convince me that Bellisario's Pitch for JAG was not a version of "What if the Lawyer in a Few Good Men was Maverick from Top Gun?"

I think this was the first year we had cable TV, but I don't remember any of these except the Drew Carey Show and Pinky and the Brain. My stepdaughter was only 8yo at the time, so when she was staying with us, the TV was pretty much hers. We watched a LOT of Saved By The Bell, Garfield & Friends, and Nick at Night. I never got into JAG, I watched two episodes total, both featuring one of my favorite actors of the past (the late Stan Kirsch), and I couldn't even watch the first episode he was in in full because I was bored (I do have it on VHS from its original May 1996 broadcast, the oldest recording I still have, one of the last NBC version shows). I'm not saying it wasn't a good show, it just wasn't my thing. Obviously I don't watch NCIS either. And wow, John Barrowman looks so young in Central Park West, a full decade before Doctor Who.

I find NBC's lack of faith in JAG as hilarious as ABC's decision to not go forward with the CSI pilot. Between the CSI shows and the NCIS shows, CBS would end up owning most of the 2000's (and some of the 2010's) in total viewers.

@@fromthehaven94 1. Not the First time... I wandered down a Rabbit hole a while ago, and apparently ABC had 'All in the Family' handed too them, but they balked because of a failed edgy 'sketch show' the season before... this gave it to CBS, where it spawned multiple spin offs (which had their own spin offs allowing CBS to 'Own the 70s' 2. CSI was supposed to be an 'also ran' on CBS, as their debut Season CBS put their weight behind a revival of the Fugitive

How to put this delicately. There's a certain way of knowing which of these shows were likely on WB or UPN based on specific demographics they were targeting. Some of these intros are so basic they could be from almost any television era but I do appreciate the ones that are unmistakably 90s.

I'd rather remember Xena: Warrior Princess (started in October, 1995 in the same WB superstations as "Pinky and The Brain" ) over in syndication, with probably a few other more...

Nowhere Man, Murder One, The Client and JAG were all casual watches ranging from watchable to decent. Caroline in the City, Drew Carey Show, Too Something, Dweebs, Can't Hurry Love, Almost Perfect and Moesha I watched pretty regularly. A full-on Kirk Cameron sitcom makes me wanna blow my brains out just thinking about it and I always found Jeff Foxworthy about as funny as cancer. Central Park West was insufferable.
