I enjoy a fun video and this one is FUN. I also have Hanmer XT coming... my Christmas present to me... I, too, shoot forks up. One tip to you on the band tying. Get some cotton 'butcher's' twine and some wax for that constrictor knot. Or cheat like me and get some crystal string from a dealer... like SimpleShot or Snipersling. Til next time forks up, shoot straight, and carry on now.

I am really enjoying shooting this one upright for sure. Fun sling!

👍👍 Good on you buddy. The constrictor knot is a skill I've yet to master. The big advantage is field repairs. You can use your teeth as a third hand and fix your bands with zero tools. The inner strands of Paracord also work well for it. Pretty much any string that will bind on itself well and has sufficient strength will work. Using wrap and tuck with bits of rubber or tying tape and an overhand knot require either a jig or second set of hands.
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
It’s tough stuff for sure!😂 And wrap and Tuck is not always fun that’s for sure haha.
@forksandspoons72723 жыл бұрын
@@411Outdoors Agreed, it's easy to introduce a twist in the bands with wrap and tuck and shorten their life span. I spent hours trying to learn the constrictor knot and just couldn't get it. I had switched to wrap and tuck because the tying tape wasn't holding. I then learned I needed to pre stretch the tape and now it works fine. Other people swear by crystal string, but I can't get it to work with wrap and tuck or an overhand knot. I bought a roll of 0.8 mm string and I suspect I need much thinner. This stuff behaves like fishing line and doesn't bind on itself causing knots to undo themselves.
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
@@forksandspoons7272 I tried to tie on some slingshot bands the other day with some regular rubber bands and I got slapped in the mouth LOL
@forksandspoons72723 жыл бұрын
@@411Outdoors You can cut a rubber band and use them wrap and tuck, as a loop...well you learned the answer to that😉. There's a few tricks that make wrap and tuck easier. Use a long tie, you can always cut off the excess. Don't worry about tension on the first wrap. Its only job is to hold down the other end. You can gradually increase tension with wraps two and three. That way the band doesn't shift in relation to the fork. Once the band doesn't want to move, you can then pile on the tension with a lot of wraps after that. Lay a bit of string in a loop on the fork and make your last wrap over it. You put the free end of the tie through the loop and pull it under and through. It's much more precise than over your thumb. Your ties don't need to be very wide/stiff at all. A few mm wide is enough. You get a lot of tension from multiple wraps, not necessarily how stiff the rubber is. Smaller is also easier to work with because you're not fighting stiff rubber. 👍

The Hammer XT basically The wrist rocket Axiom Ocularis to me yea Im thinking of that as the final piece in my simpleshot collection. That thing banded up right with 12mm lead is very capable of taking a deer down. And I have had seen deer in my lifetime in these rare occasions in the woods when your walking and walk up close on one about 40 yards and it does not run and you look at each other standing still for just about a minit or so then I would walk and it would run but if you had that slingshot and that rare instant happened you could strike its dome and it would fall same as a shotgun slug hitting its head. That's bragging rights in the hunting community and more important is more of a competitive sport hunt, That thing could also be converted to the sling bow and arrow to do the job.
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Yes sir!👍 it’s a machine and so fun to shoot. I really want the bow attachments. In think for another 50 bucks I can
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
