I just received my SimpleShot Hammer XT today and it feels great in the hand. What an amazing design and it pulls apart in two seconds to fit into your pocket. Tons of stored, potential power because it pulls so easily. Just a great slingshot !

I looked on Amazon wanting something different and i found the TX and fell in love with it then i searches for a review on it and landed here. 1st thing im doing this monday is ordering mine. Most powerful simple shot slingshot??? In your opinion
@411Outdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, my opinion is that it gives you the potential to have the most power. Bands makes power but when you can use a wrist brace combined with 1 inch wide bands, you’re gonna have a very powerful set up. It also absorbs recoil well. So yep , that’s my story and sticking to it

Great video and channel man. Could I shoot home cast lead 7/8 lee slugs, 1oz zvarog slugs or .69 cal round balls through this? Or is that to heavy a payload. Considering purchasing one if so. And have you ever set up a chronograph to test velocities with various size ammo?

@@411Outdoors fairplay man that 18mm is .70 cal within a payload weight of maybe an ounce and a quarter?! Random question have you ever thought about buying or home casting your own bullet shaped ammo like a round nose or hollow point. 356 or .41? Or larger! I wonder how they would shoot, straight as an arrow or tumble?! What generally have you found to be your favourite, best or most versatile/effective size ammo? Thanks Daniel for the review. I just got the Hammer Slingshot today, but haven't set it up yet. Couple of weeks ago on KZbin I saw a couple of good old boys who built a large slingshot and said they shot and killed deer with it. Yeah, hard to believe and they didn't show any "catch and cook" so I remain skeptical.
@411Outdoors Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I can understand that because a Slingshot is typically not a deer gatherer lol. Thanks my friend.!

One inch by one mil! You could make some money on the side launching satellites with that!😂 A taper of one inch to three quarter inch should give you equivalent speed with less draw weight. I've found that to be true with 0.7 mm. Example. 18 mm (20= 3/4 inch) straight cut have about the same draw weight as 22 to 15 mm. I like straight bands from a durability perspective. The stress is even along the length and they just live longer. The pouch end of a taper is always under more stress and is likely to fail first. The counter argument is safety. A band failure at the pouch end is no problem, while the opposite is rather unpleasant. A taper template is a must have tool in my experience. It's way to easy to mess it up using a ruler and just butcher a ton of rubber👍
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Great points bro! That is a heavyyyyy band lol
@forksandspoons72723 жыл бұрын
@@411Outdoors agreed, heavy. I gave your arms a second look after you mentioned the size. Ultimately, it's grip strength and not biceps that determine your draw weight, the proverbial weak link in the chain. I can certainly see that kind of force being useful for self defense. A man size target is easier to hit than a beer can. In that case, I'd go for maximum effective weight of my ammo. I know I'm not going to be precise, I want to be tossing a lead golf ball or as close as I can get in that scenario.😉
