Because in India schools and colleges aren't meant to be fun, you're to suffer the same shit the professors went through in their youth, they won't allow fun. I'm a teacher too and I think most of the teachers of my age are willing to have some fun during classes, but the old hags and ogres won't allow us, they'll blame us and will complain about us to the Principal and at this age and time we really don't want to loose our jobs. I try to engage most of my students by being funny and friendly, that's the best I can do for them.

They did too. Just because it's being taught at the college level doesn't mean their education system is shit. Hell, most of them might now even be majoring in Chemistry but must have it as an elective or something. The university is ranked sub 30 in almost every ranking. A feat IISc Bangalore can only dream of. Trust me, we take so much pride in our rigorous academic ways that we lag behind almost everywhere else.

@@dryalbite we lag because of brain drain( means people choosing to work into foreign land, it's there choice I don't complaint but that is the truth)...not because we take pride..and the reason our college ranking is low is mostly because of infrastructure facilities..secondly those nation have talent from all around world( professor and teacher) because they have money and facilities and we lack that...as per report published in 2018 I guess.. 80% intellectuals Indians had left India every year..after all that still me manage to stand that itself is a thing to take pride on..sure we also have lot of issue regarding education system but not the way you put it...think throughly take example of ISRO how much budget it get as compared to NASA..NASA have people from around globe and thing is they have money to nurture there ideas and we have limited resources, need to deal with lot of thing. Any way I also dont agree with that person as just because they are teaching them chemistry which we have already studied in 11th grade that don't mean it is low level..it might be the revision class or something, I get that point of yours, but do t agree with other half.
