I have met a lot of nice officers during my alcoholic days. When I would get arrested for being drunk in public the officers in the station that already knew me would ask me with concern Martina are ever going to stop drinking. Swift didn’t want anyone forward of the back of the stage that wasn’t part of her traveling crew, but was seen talking to her people, and many local crew were given momentos by her crew (I got a shirt). Mars made them put up a rope 150 feet behind the stage and no local crew allowed forward of the rope or within the house boundaries until he left stage, he never talked to or thanked any of us for anything. We never saw him talk to his traveling crew either, when his last set was complete they rushed him off stage and within two minutes was loaded into a vehicle that had been waiting within the roped off area and they were driving him straight back to his hotel. Counter that with Metallica, no boundaries, and all local crew invited to be on side stage for last 45 minutes of the concert (last set plus encores)... Metallica and swift traveling crews all seemed happy, loved being there, liked who they worked for, a joy to be around; Mars’ traveling crew, not so much... competent professionals but were not happy, and no fun to be around... PS. I got to be in Metallica’s private area before they showed up, they bring traveling nutritionist and masseuse with them and a whole group of people just to make sure they’re comfortable and happy, people that prep their hangout area, make sure everything is perfect... it was a pretty cool setup. Concert goers want a great show, a happy healthy band are relaxed and more likely to want to be there doing their thing, and they were happy, and it was the fourth time I’d seen Metallica in concert, first time I was paid to be there and not a ticket purchaser... it was awesome to see it from another perspective. After seeing what a miserable SOB Mars is, and the way he treats (and ignores) people, including his traveling crew, I wouldn’t pay him for a damned thing.... I’d still buy tickets to see Metallica.... and Swift!

Our Emergency Personnel deserve so much more than they receive!!!! Every day you put your uniforms on and do the best you can. I think people forget you’re all ONLY human. I agree, and once Covid is solved and life goes back to normal, get the community involved. Afterwards the departments could hold a community night with the fire department. Food, sports (baseball, kickball, etc) , music from the high school marching band maybe?, police and fire can show kids their equipment and cars/or trucks It would a great way to connect with the community

@@blumie006 Police departments have 3 shifts The other shifts would pick up the slack. (Night shift). They are still on the clock so if something happens they will leave these events and hall ass to the call. My local police department did something very similar to what I said above. It really does bring the community together. In fact it is a great moral boost for the officers. I spoke with one of the detectives who was there (pre covid mind you) and he said they love doing this sort of thing. When they did this they did have half their day shift at the event and half out on the street patrolling with half of the 2nd and 3rd shift. Response time did not go down.

Whoever conceived/ started this amazing performance deserves all the praises. To make these officers participate in one great act of "symbiosis and generosity" is already a milestone in many ways. If all the police forces in the world would just have the heart and humanity of these Norfolk officers, our communities may turn to be a lot more better than we expected. I'm from Asia but we do not OFTEN see our men and women in uniform perform in such powerful collective undertaking in the spirit of humanness.
