@HaseebElectronics3 жыл бұрын
i am thankful for your valuable comment as i discussed in the video that every capacitor have XL value that is capacitive reactance. that is in simple words "the ac resistance of a capacitor" at low frequency its internal resistance is very high, so it will provide short path. at high frequency its internal resistance will decrease, so in that case it will give easy path for high frequency but it will not disturb low frequency signals

One of the best explanation on youtube. It is very helpful to people who search it. But missing information, X class without internal fuse, so that if fail will short the terminal and Y class with internal fuse so that if fail will open terminal (internal fuse blown). Salam
@HaseebElectronics3 жыл бұрын
best regards. class x or class y stages are added after fuse, if a continuous strike of pulses arrive and it exceeds than the mov limits, and the LC filter reaches in ringing factor so it will increase the filter current and the class X capacitor have to short internally, so it must blow away the fuse. this ringing factor may happen due to external electromagnetic interference or something wrong in smps switching section
@kartinosurodipo45203 жыл бұрын
@@HaseebElectronics It is correct for X type. But for Y there is internal fuse. That is main different with X type. X type is actually same cap as any other cap. The different is Y cap which has internal fuse. Not all GND has good connection to allow amount current flow to blow mains fuse. And it can create danger of shock at chassis. It is different case with X which has full current when fail. You can check at many explanation by googling it.

@bshogeman2 жыл бұрын
Very good description on how it works. Just wondering.. How much power are we wasting just by using AC in our homes. All devices convert the power on its own to DC. And if I understand this right then with DC power we are much less wasting power here. Filters can be capacitors that give power not wasting it. Solar energy can also be so much more efficient with DC. No more out of sync of the 50/60Hz and wasting power to get it clear again.

Excellent, as usual. What happens if a 1.5KV spike arrives to an X3 capacitor? Does the cap go short/open? Or simply it doesn't do its job? (and doesn't damage itself)
@HaseebElectronics3 жыл бұрын
special thanks x3 capacitor have "peak impulse voltage" less than 1.2 KV. it means 1200 volt is the highest limit of peak. above this it have to fly away. as its operating voltage range might be 150 or 275 volt etc. while working if it receives peaks of 1.2KV and the MOV is unable to remove it, then this safety capacitor will end. as its basic responsibility is to bypass high frequency please accept my best regards
