Angelique has a beautiful mid brown color. I was going to make a desk out of it. But I found it hard to source and I read that it has a high silica content and therefore it’s very hard to work with. You need carbide tools and it will be hard on your blades.

For the price, it's not a bad deal at all. I think that using what others may call 'off cuts' or 'scrap' for projects, showcases a skill that's a compliment to imagination and ingenuity. Your woodworking channel has quickly become one of my favorites. Thank you for the time and effort.

I agree that's a good deal on substantial pieces of exotic woods. You make boxes, jewelry cases & such from them, not wall cabinets. And you are smiling! That makes for a warmer, more personal video for viewers. I hope you feel the same way.

That is how she gets noticed. I don't care for it, either, but she does have a nice rack. The body of a Ferrari and the face of a Pinto.

1. Hard to believe folks in the First World are still using wood burners! Terrible for air pollution, and even the fancy fan-assisted ones are dangerous for anyone indoors with any respiratory problems. 2. Stealing from your neighbor...?!

I mean it's not the greatest looking Purpleheart, but too be fair, you normally have to go through a lot of boards just to get one or two boards with good color anyways, a few pcs of the mahogany family and perhaps something that may looks like Morado with lots of sapwood, with that being said, you get roughly 66 board feet for 42$ which is less than 70 cents a board foot, Not a horrible deal even if there is some checking.

Edit, 5:39 I'm almost positive it is some sort of Ipe wood, you ll know it if it gums up your sandpaper quickly as it is very oily. good wood for making outdoor items.

I think your math is a little off. For simplicity, let's say the boards are a little wider at 6 inches and all 1 foot long. The board feet for these 12 (?) boards would be around: 12 × 1'(L) × .5'(W) × 1"(T) = 6 board feet. If I messed up, my apologies.

Hey Sky! New to your channel and playing catch-up. I was wondering if you put a moisture meter to this wood? I'm enjoying the videos from your past and present.. excellent content and very informative. One more question I have, you've mentioned in several of your videos that you started you tube in photography. How do you go from that into woodworking? Inquiring minds...

Quick calculation, I think that is about 4.2 board feet. So about $10/board foot. Of the worst price I have seen. And my calculation was done in my head so it could be off. Another great video, Skyler.

Hi. Two comments: 1. I looked up Angelique. It contains a lot of silica. Beware, silica can be rough on your cutting tools (blades, router bits, etc.). 2. You mentioned Rockler. It's actually Rockler that supplies this wood to Amazon! Oops, my bad...that's the $29.99 box of wood. Sorry!
