42 Inch halibut while rock fishing from the Kayak. Biggest of my life!!!

Hooked this guy fishing for rockfish on accident and it turned out to be my biggest halibut ever. 34 pounds and 42 inches. Caught on the new Diawa Lexa 400h-p and Phenix psx809. Pick up all your new gear at been their caught that!!!

It’s better to use barbless hooks. It makes releasing the fish you don’t want much easier without hurting the fish “trying” to take out the hook. Congrats on that halibut. Dems sum gud filays 😎👍🏼

@@rainzer0 pretty sure he was fishing south of Point Conception which opened April 1st. Also he offered to give the one he caught to his friend. I was just curious why. Does he not like to eat them, etc. maybe he was only targeting Verms.
