Being a servant of Musa, he was close to the Revelation, and so, when Musa (A), passed away, the leadership of Bani Isra’il was passed to Yusha ibn Nun. Under the leadership of Yusha ibn Nun, Bani Isra’il is made victorious and returns to the Holy Land, an event which did not occur under Musa or Harun (who both passed away whilst Bani Isra’il was still in the wilderness). The Prophet (S), gives us a clue as to why this victory was delayed when he said: “None of the ones who worshipped the calf entered into Jerusalem.”

This story is probably from Isra'iliyat. It is the earth that rotates in 24 hours and orbits the sun in a year. The storyteller doesn't know how astronomy works just because they see the sun rises up the sky and set.

It maybe from the Israilites but all of creation is under the control of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ he can stop or delay anything without any effort. Not a leaf falls but by his command or permission. There are several miracles mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah. All of the laws in the universe are subject to his power and command, he is not subject to them. سبحان الله

it's in sahih hadith. Sahih Muslim 1747 and Sahih al-Bukhari 3124. The only difference is that joshua isn't mentioned by name, but it's kind of obvious it's him based on the description of the tribes and how similar it is to the bible passages. Joshua is also mentioned by name as an assistant to moses in other hadith(Sahih Muslim 2380a), this is also confirmed by Joshua being an assistant to moses in the bible and moses having an assistant is in surah kahf too. The fact that the person in the hadith is Joshua was also recorded by Imam Ahmad.
