The creepiest part is when the girl's uncle makes her play like an animal and take her clothes off. That's how pedophiles are in real life. It's not usually a stranger in a van offering you candy, or a split personality psychopath kidnapping you; it's more likely going to be someone close to your family getting you to do stuff that scars you forever, yet it seems kind of innocent when it first happens.

I don't think it was just luck that her advice to the girl worked. I think it was two things: 1. The germaphobe personality had been complaining about cleanliness. 2. She probably uses/used this tactic when her uncle attacks her.

People who live in constant pain a lot of times become angry that people take advantage of their everyday painless lives. They will complain about something as trivial as dropping their phones in water and getting a paper cut, then categorize that has having a bad day. I live with the most painful disease in the world, along with another very rare disease that descends me into constant excruciating pain everyday, all day. My diseases are not treatable, curable, and offer no pain relief. So, their definition of a bad day is laughable to someone like me, but also feeling compassion to others' pain.

And about Casey going back to her uncle, i think that it's not so much that she doesn't want to go back with her uncle, but that scene in the cab, her look is more like "now he's going to pay" (i thought she might kill him! Turns out, as we learn in glass, that she just sent him to jail!) - This is important because it is the thing that makes the link between her and Kevin, when Kevin sees that she is broken inside, it's kinda like a revelation to her also, a new found force and power, and this is why she goes to see Kevin at the facility in glass, she understands why he lost his mind and she is thankful for that encounter in a way, as she probably would have kept enduring her abusive uncle if she had not encountered Kevin! There is also something that i found very deep while subtle in the way the 3 girls react in the first scene in which they're captives! Casey is particularly smart, while the 2 other girls are portrayed as "normal people". Casey gives advices, is the one who they should listen to, she should be a leader, but they instead react like "nvm, she's a weirdo" and reject her from their little group! Totally fits with the final conclusion of glass, normal people will never tolerate anyone special! Seems like bright movie director Shyamalan is silently screaming that to us all along; so i'm not so surprised that glass feels so depressing in the end, the trilogy's message is as awful as ... realistic!

My personal subtle favorite is that David Dunn (Bruce Willis) shows up at the end in a diner. What is the theme of the diner he is eating in? Doesn't it oddly enough look like the dining trailer of a train? I don't know if anyone here has ridden an AMTRACK in the Northeast but they have that design. In fact, this while movie has train imagery.

Dude, dealing with Kevin is a walk in the park for Casey after living with her uncle. That subplot is even more horrifying than the movie's main plot. Chills.

Facts....it was the reason she made it out...only an abused person can recognize another abused person. The other 2 girls were too heavily socialized by their "good"upbringing. This is why they were overcome by the evil compartments of Kevin's 24 personalities.

As a response to your question "when did you know it was a sequel?" I knew it was a sequel to Unbreakable at the point where the Dr. starts explaining how The Beast's powers work...how he can cling to walls, etc. That whole speech was just straight out of a comic book movie and got me thinking about Unbreakable...and I basically spent the rest of the movie waiting for Bruce Willis to show up and save the day. I was actually surprised when the end credits started and we hadn't seen him, but once I realized it was an actual after credit sequence I knew he would be in it.
@CZsWorld6 жыл бұрын
Did that ruin it for you or make it better?
@jackmars9316 жыл бұрын
I think it made it better. It's hard to say...on the one hand I was already enjoying it, but that did get me pretty excited, but in a way I was so wrapped up in waiting for BW to show up that I was a little distracted from the actual movie, and the end might have had more of an impact if I had been like "Wow....Bruce Willis!" instead of "Ok, there he finally is, I was right" Still I really enjoyed the movie either way.

1:15: Correction - you say that there are 24 titles, one for every personality in The Horde. Technically, that's not correct. There is a set of titles for each of Kevin's alters, but not every alter is part of The Horde. "The Horde" properly only relates to the personalities aligned with The Beast. At this point, the only confirmed members are The Beast himself, Patricia, Dennis, and Hedwig. Other identities repeatedly refer to The Horde in the third person plural, indicating that they are not members of this cabal. To be fair, the reporter misuses the term at the end.

I remember Unbreakable first coming to cinemas and I was just blown away by how awesome it was. As soon as the dvd was released, I bought it (I was always a fan of the extras!). When Elijah is talking to his customer about the composition of the comic-book characters, we see his crazy-side-fro in the reflection as he describes the disproportionately large head of the villains. I then remember going to see Split...and was blown away by James McAvoy's performance. Like you, I get goosebumps just recalling how I felt when David Dunn appeared at the end. This weekend, I've watched all 3 films. Remember that scene I described earlier...well, it was a double-twist. He may have been talking about square jaws and large heads, but the villain in the piece was a Jackal. Then in the flashback scene in Unbreakable, we see young Elijah open his purple-wrapped gift to reveal the Action Comic that related to the highly expensive art work...a green-caped superhero battling the yellow-furred beast. M Knight Shymalan sure knows how to play the long game!! Xxx

I caught the "like they have powers" line when I first watched Split. It made me think of Unbreakable at the time, but I didn't think that Split was directly related to Unbreakable after that scene. I just thought maybe it was thrown in to get people talking about the fan theory of a Shyamalan shared universe that had made the rounds a few years before. When Dunn showed up on screen at the end, I immediately thought I should have known that of course it wasn't just fan-bating. Split was Shyamalan's best film in years, and when he's on top of his game, there's nothing that's put in the film just to get a reaction. There's always a point. I felt dumb as hell.

I believe in 5:08 it wasn't doctor fletcher's handwriting but instead it was the handwriting of the laters of kevin. Like maybe hedwig's and the others.

The pee thing is actually not luck. She either understood that Dennys is germaphobe (it can be seen when he kidnap them) or a hunter trick : peeing on yourself as a prey makes you either weak or sick. Reflection of a character in a movie means that character hides something. If Glass has reflections it's because he grew as a villain but it's not clearly revealed by the story until the end. You see a poor guy in a chair but it's the true villain of the story. For the end of Split, it may be foreshadowing to Glass events. Also, they're talking about the Beast but the Beast doesn't appear. So the reflection may tell they hide the Beast and keep it as a secret weapon. They're also making a villain plan, a conspiration. When Casey doesn't want to get back to her Uncle, it's because she changed. The Beast lets her go because she got abused and because they're the same. As Casey did go on hunt while a child and is not afraid to shoot at the Beast, she's a hunter, a predator. Just like the Beast. It's even clearer that when she goes out, we can see panthers in the zoo, behind a cage. She's one of them but she's getting out of her cage. That also explains that Casey seems to understand what's going on with Kevin : the pee thing and afterwards she doesn't move when her sister hits Kevin with the chair. She and Kevin found strength through their traumatic experiences.

2:00 it shows that he's germaphobic in the abduction scene, and she was able to observe that. Not luck, just a good call.

Actually doctors handwriting is notoriously awful. Medical errors in translations is one of the reasons most orders have been changed to typed/computer generated. As a nurse for 27 yrs. I can tell stories of nurses frustrated passing orders or drs. notes to each other to decipher them before wanting to actually call the doc for confirmation. Myself I always read an order before taking it to the pharmacy after having to return meds that were wrong.

Okay I'm pretty sure the 4 and the T are a bit of a stretch if you ask me. Those two things could be ANYTHING that relates to a 4 or a T. Left 4 Dead. Trask Industries from X-Men. See what I mean?
@CZsWorld6 жыл бұрын
It's more the way they are placed in the circle. The 4 looks a lot like the Fantastic Four logo. For the T, there was no reason to separate the letter T from the letters A, X and I like that if he didn't want someone to notice it.

CZ are you from CZech republic? Like i mean but thanks for this,this series (unbreakable,split,glass) made me think "what if you can be a superhero,what if you can be something like the beast by mind,by psychology" so i am trying to make word superhuman real.
