One thing Keven's off on is her being a teacher and going to make under $1k social security. Teachers are not underpaid despite the propaganda. Teachers can earn almost 90k at 30 years here in Georgia and with the pension and social security retirement income will be around $90k. Most government employees get good incomes and great benefits with fantastic pensions that people in the private sector no longer get.

If they get a masters along the way they can retire at 30 years, many early 50yos will be receiving over $93k per year salary. That's just regular 200 school days work, summers and extended holidays off year round. A friend is retiring soon at 62yo and with social security and teacher pension will receive more than her teachers salary in retirement. Yes principals get paid more but we're just talking teachers here.
