I've dealt with this before, the guy was probably a reserved, "nerdy" guy. Who was chasing her and she was not trying to be serious with him, until the money started coming and he leveled up on her. I went through the same thing, when I was making 40k a year as a maintenance man my ex was being a commitment phobe, she didn't want to marry me or anything. Then I finished college and started making 85k a year, she began trying to push for marriage and even began discussing children. She noticed the level of women that were interested in me began to surpass her own level, and wanted to lock me down. She's a single mom to some guy now, so I dodged a bullet.
