@MrBluecollar8 awsome. Have you grown fruit and/or veg? I lately gave up on our allotment (patch of rented land if you're not from the UK) and tried pots outside the house. Waaaaay easier and great when needing some lettuce or 1 onion. I am now thinking that is where the gnats came from that absolutely nailed my first attempt at indoor "hemp" growing. All the best 👍

I lay my phone on the grill that elevates them, so maybe it's the vibration of the phone? What's your thoughts? Do soundwaves help plants?

I think it depends on how powerful your light is. If your running a 200 watt led or less you can run 18 in no problem I’d just start with the power turned down and slowly go up and see what your plants tell you. I do know that HLG recommends running your light at higher power farther off the canopy rather than closer to the plants at less power

I'm a new grower and these videos are great but it's kinda hard to tell what exactly your talking about when it comes to how the plant will look in certain situations since we don't really have a baseline since this is our first grow. We can google it but then we are back to what exactly is he talking about, especially when you have to distinguish between things like difficiency or bleaching like you mentioned. Would it be possible for you to maybe add pictures to your videos so we can see exactly what you mean. Love the videos. Keep it up!

Just be in your grow and pay close attention to how the plant looks. Your in a science class. Run a test…. Lower your light to 12 inches and turn it up to 100%, give it 2 hours and see what the leaves do….. take photos. Light stress happens fast and you can see the effects. Once you learn that, just raise the light back up to 30” from the highest leaves and turn it back down to 25%. Biggest learing curve is learning what your plants like and dislike. Every plant you grow will be different and want or hate certain things. We call them ladies for a reason. Some women are easy to please and dont require as much maintenance, Other women just want more more more and bitch like hell if you dont give them what they want!

Great content for new growers my brother!! I use a PAR meter instead of lux meter. High par without the right conditions will cause stress. I'm currently running 1 week old seedlings at 450 to 500 PAR (I used to run between 200 to 350) with a 100 watt Migro LED 10" above them. They are doing spectacular, better than any I had run before. They are already on their 3rd set of leaves with no curling or signs of stress at all. But I also don't have heat issues which I think account for most lighting issues indoors. Happy growing folks!
@timturk18992 жыл бұрын
You have a Migro 100, and probably watch Shane's channel (from the info) and he's the best when it comes to lighting info. Great interview with Bruce Bugby (?), from Utah State and the owner of Apogee Instruments on the last episode, I believe..? Giving advice on hanging height without knowing which LED fixture is being used is bad Bro' Science, and I'm surprised. You can kinda estimate if a bar light, or quantum type boards, COB's, the 4"-5" wide, 24"-36" long fixtures packed with many Diodes, with many, square, tall fins all along the top for the heatsink (good for supplemental lighting in a greenhouse, as they don't block the Sun really), but used indoors must be a few feet from the canopy, at least, usually higher! These different types of fixtures could be given estimated heights just by their type, without knowing each model. Like above, there's only 4-5 basic fixture styles, and this info could have been given with an hour's worth of research. Not my channel though, so I'll give him a "Pass"! He still got the important part of the message across, and always has good info on the channel! That's why I'm subscribed!👍💯🔥🔥🔥✌️

I had a plant that was curling when I increased the intensity. The tent was 75f 55% humidity. I just dimmed the light from 75% to 50% and it was great the next day. So light intensity will cause curling too.
@JamesS.254 Жыл бұрын
I kept waiting for him to mention 'dim the lights'. As long as you're getting full coverage from the height of the light, use the dimmer to turn down the intensity. Not only are you giving them the proper amount of light, but it will help keep your electric bill down as well, instead of cranking your light to 100% and only using height you may not have in your grow space. Even without a light meter most people should be able to get in the ball park if they know the intensity of their light at 100% at a given height.

Unfortunately, being a beginner I didn’t do the best job at LST. So, my ladies are super close to my lights. Not getting too much burn but, should I turn the intensity down? I’m running a 300 watt at 100%.

Pretty sure lumens aren't what you should be measuring. Rather you should be checking PAR/PPFD.

Yea light stress is huge I have my girls in veg with a 300 watt light I only push at 50%. When I put them in the flower in the light is much more powerful and I literally can’t run the past 3 or the light kills everything until like week 4-5.
