I love your videos. Just completed my first bloom on a 15 inch Lazy Susan yesterday. Checked it today to see if it was dry. It had warped? No clue why. Had varnished it and taped it the same as another one I did an ocean scene on. Both were from Michael's. Weird.

For the warped piece, take off the bottom pieces and hardware, and make it into a wall hanging. You might want to add some glass pieces to create a “geode-like” piece….attach them with clear resin. It’d be even more beautiful than it is now.

Hey Louise, this happened to me on a few occasions and I was so disappointed! But, I left them sitting for a few days, maybe a week , and they straightened out completely 🙌🏼 I thought it may have been humidity as it was very hot at the time. Haven’t made any for a few weeks so let’s see what happens when I start again 🙏🏼 let me know if yours straightens, it’s too pretty to waste. This new colour combo is gorgeous 😘😘

So it was very hot at the time I created this so it could be exactly like you’re talking about so I’m quite happy about it. Thank you for sharing your experience.😘😘😘

I live in Florida, so I have problems with humidity. I had a lazy Susan that warped. I put it on a flat surface on a piece of parchment. (It was painted and dried) I then put heavy tiles on the higher parts (the lazy Susan is upside down) I left it for a week. Don't know if it always works, but worth a try!

Just a thought, but is the minwax matte varnish water based? Maybe that is causing the warping . Maybe consider using Kilz 2 All purpose. It dries white but your painting over it anyway.

Yes, the matte varnish based. After I’ve applied a couple coats of the varnish there is no warping, at least none that is noticeable to my eye. It’s only after I do the paint pour. And the most recent one I had varnished it and applied to Kilz to the top as well, so technically it should’ve been triple protected. I’m really at a standstill, I reached out to IKEA and they weren’t able to provide me any information about any changes in their manufacturing process, which is where I believe this problem stems from, but I don’t have any proof of that except for the evidence of the table top warping…

Louise, I also use the Ikea Lazy Susans and I had no problems with warping until July, August and Sept. I've had three warp. I have not tried double varnishing, but I will now that I saw this. Has it worked? As always, your videos are great and I like watching them all the way through.

Louise I had one that warped on me and I just left it to the side for about 3-4 months and guess what? It’s no longer warped! I had nothing on top and still taped up! I was shocked!

Yes, I’ve been using the Valspar 833124 for over a year now and I have lately switched to the Minwax semi gloss varnish approximately 3 to 1.

Do you do lazy susans in different sizes or do you find a particular size to be preferable?

Primarily use only IKEA 15 inch and has been mostly successful with that. I’ve done a couple smaller ones at 14 inches off Amazon and just feel like the larger size is a little more practical, too just kind of defeats the purpose for the idea of it.

questa è la tecnica del Bloom. Sto usando la vernice per la casa Glidden 6011N per il cuscino. Per il pouring medium utilizzo Valspar 833124 combinato con Minwax in un rapporto di 3:1. Il mio attivatore cellulare è nel video 141 se vuoi vederlo. I colori effettivi della vernice vengono condivisi durante il video. Spero che questo aiuti. Grazie.
