Question: First, thank you so much for the detailed instructions. I have watched this video (and many others) four times and studied your every move. I was wondering the size of your pallet knife you use to transfer the bloom and maybe the brand. Also, about what diameter is the bloom when it's on your silicone mat before you transfer it? Thank you again so so much for all the instructions!!!
@LouiseMcKayArt
@LouiseMcKayArt Күн бұрын
@@4kimtaylor hi Kim, 😘thank you good questions. The pallet knife is just a 6 inch standard putty knife you would get from the hardware store Lowe’s or Home Depot or Ace or anywhere. I don’t know the brand that stickers long gone. I don’t think that matters. As far as the diameter of my bloom? I don’t know I’ve never measured it but it’s small enough to fit on the pallet knife so use that as a reference, because I honestly don’t know.😅

Louise I have been using your PM. It is so very smooth but how do you thin it down? Water? Glass varish? Also do yuo every put water in the PPG Muiltpro pillow paint? I just bought some Aussie floetrol so I have been trying it but your recipe for CA was awsesome. I know I’ll go back to it. Thanks for all of your instructions and care. I am so glad you weren’t worse affected Helene! They say….we have to pick up the pieces💁‍♀️ and keep going. Who’s they?🤷‍♀️ It must have been terrible and for some it still is. Anyway, totally enjoying you work.

@@dianekessler8862 hi Diane, 😘as far as my pouring medium goes, I’ve never add water or extra of min wax to the pouring media itself, too thin it down. It’s never been that thick where I had to then down the pouring medium, however, I have had situations where after applying it to the paint, the paint has gotten thicker and I will add some water, more Minwax, or if I have, some high flow paints of a similar color to thin it down. I try to keep my main pouring medium badge, intact, and only get adjusted in each color., But yeah, there’s various ways to thin it down. I’m glad you’re liking my cell activator recipe. And yes, Helene was a fierce and deadly storm, and Asheville is still recovering from it. We still have work to do ourselves to include now, removing a few trees that are in harms way since the storm. Still a lot of debris to pick up..

@@dianekessler8862 the only time I’ve ever thinned pillow paint is when my pillow was made from paint scraps so it had been sitting around a while. In that case just didn’t down with some water, you could throw some Floetrol in there, but just some water gently stirred, no big deal.

It's still hard for me to discern differences between cells and lacing, and between blooms, deconstructed blooms, and dutch pours (even when I can see them side by side) but I do know that I like your work. I also appreciate your attention to detail when it comes to numbering your videos and having such well organized playlists. I rewatch different things constantly trying to get these techniques to stick in my brain and its always so easy to find what I need. I can't imagine how much work it is to film, teach, and edit on top of the actual artwork you're doing, but it is greatly appreciated.

Meeker😘💕 thank you so much for your comment and as far as discerning, the differences between things, it just comes with familiarity and regularity of looking at things. I really appreciate your comment about how my page is organized. And yeah, getting it all together is always a trick, the creation part is the easiest of it all believe it or not. When I turn the camera on, I just go into automatic teaching mode so it’s not like I really have to think about it, but I probably spend at least three times editing compared to the creation portion, and then you gotta upload it, sometimes it’s a pain in the you know what🤣

One of these days, you ought try a paint explosion! An elder lady had to get a federal permit to use explosive primer cord, to make art with. She didn't use paint like I am suggesting. She just taped it to a sheet of metal, and set the primer cord off. She then use methods of polishing to get a chrome background, the polished in brass, where the primer cord created indentations in the metal. It would be cool if you can pull it off.

@@anitathomas7887 hi Anita, I’m not 100% sure but I do know that the 47-3110 is eggshell sheen and an interior. I think that the 47-0000 is a flat sheen. It probably would work, although I’ve never used it before a flat sheen is one step more dull than eggshell. What you don’t want is to get a semi gloss or gloss in your pillow. I hope that helps.
