For the sake of nostalgia, I would say The Boss. In 1972, I had a Boss 302 transplanted into a 1965 Ford F-100 shortbed stepside pickup because that was West Texas cool. Hurst shifter, of course. Street squirrel special.

1st consideration would be power output per dollar to buy/build. 2nd consideration would be output power per pound of weight. 3rd consideration would be ease of installation into a preferably small chassis. But I think I'd have to take the Hemi if it were being given to me just because it's SOOOOOO much more valuable.

I can tell you from my experience building these two engines the hemi is way more expensive to build but the Boss ain’t cheap either.

You’re comparing a big block to a small block. Even then the Boss 302 could create 300 plus horsepower 😂

This was just a comparison of the physical size difference. I don’t think anyone’s ever seen them side-by-side, in this manner both great engines and their own, right there is definitely a reason the 426 hemi was referred to as an elephant and you can see it in this video. both these engines are relatively stock builds, but either one of them would respond greatly to modifications headers Cams the boss was capable of more power, and so is the hemi.
