Doing a burnout with the line lock isn’t the thing to not try at home. It’s doing that burnout INTO Nicks Garage. My wife would kill me if I did a burnout into the garage. My humble suggestion, turn that roadrunner around and start from the other end of the shop so you can drive outside in the breaks don’t work perfectly. (But since Nick built it, it works perfectly!!)

Another excellent video you shared with us! Thanks. My favorite part of the video is when Nick is done with his burnout/line lock test, he goes "HEHEHE". I'm guessing the rear tires only lost about a 1/4" of circumference. My shop used to keep a set of worn down soft compound snow tires we'd throw on the cars for burnout tests, which coincidentally were also our stealth cheater drag tires...the soft compound gave excellent traction for summer street launches.

On a car without an electric pump "original show car" I use a 50cc syringe and add fuel through the carburetor float bowl vents. Starts right up. Burnouts are awesome. Makes grown men smile and laugh every time. 😆

That is a beautiful 70 Road Runner. Wish I still had my 70 GTX with 440 auto with air grabber. Unfortunately I ended up scrapping it around 1975. It was so eatin up with rust and at the time I didn't have the resources to save it. I did save the engine and rebuilt it and put a six pack on it for my 73 Road Runner. I also saved the air grabber hood but have long forgotten what happened to it.

Giasou Nikola, Is it just me or did the planet just spin a little faster with the Hemi doing a burnout. Fantastic to see you haven't lost your hooning skills, you still got it. Today I am pulling my Valiant out of the restoration shop after 3 odd years & your stickers are on the rear side glass both sides. Roadrunner horn is on, bumblebee strips are on, Mr Norm number plate surrounds are on, so later today off to get a few last minute touch up at the paint shop. Definitely going to drive my Samantha with a Nick's Garage cap. You can keep the snow, thst looks cold very cold to say the least, 31 degrees today in Melbourne. All the best at work , coffee, mum's galatoboriko & Nick's Garage doesn't get much better than that. Your number 1 Fan in Australia Louis Kats from Melbourne Australia ☺ 👍

Ok.. What I have learned is that putting an electric fuel pump near the tank to push fuel to the carbs is not the best way to go. It is the only way to go!! For any motor that makes power and uses a carb, this is a must. Not just to prime carbs but to prevent vapor lock with all of today's gas which has a low specific gravity and boils at such low temps. Take it from what I learned working with carbs and high performance big blocks. This is a must!! Also.. I learned to install electric fan or fans to run for 5-10 mins or so after you shut the car off. This prevents heat soaking of the carb so when you come back to the car, it will start right away with no crank and crank and crank until you fill the carb again with fuel. I have been through this so many times with some small blocks and mostly big blocks. Depends on the environment. I have had some Big block cars that run fine until an hour or so, or maybe pulling mountain climbs, the engine will simply lay down. Yikes!! What is wrong? Fuel is boiling in the carb and line in the engine bay. Solution? Let the car cool for an hour or so.. Or install a pusher electric fuel pump. If you have a return line, even better. On the return, put a valve cap with a small hole drilled into it on the return line to regulate return fuel. Use an electric pump designed for carbs as you do not want pressure, only volume. More than a few pounds of pressure can blow right past some carb seats and flood engines with fuel. If you have a return to tank line, position the return as close to carb as you can. Put the electric pump a close to tank as you can as they push better than they suck. Enjoy the ride. :)
