I was there today: my 12 year old daughter tidied her bedroom for the first time ever and threw a load of old cuddly toys and drawings away in the corner of her room for me to throw away. This scene / song wouldn’t escape my head as I tearfully sorted out her things. I then decided to secretly create a box full of carefully selected drawings and the more sentimental of the cuddly toys to keep for her for when she’s an adult and can appreciate all these sentimental items from her childhood once more. Memories are one of the most important thing to me.

It’s crazy how I was a kid watching Toy Story and now I’m a mom with a different perspective. As a child I heard this song and it made me want to cherish my toys and be grateful for them. Now that I am a mom this scene and song more signifies the limited time I have with my child. They want your attention now, and want you to play with them and their toys. We only have their childhood to make those memories. They grow older and you never get to experience them at that stage again.

This reminds me of that one little butterfly stuffed animal I used to have. I got it when I was two, and ‘Twinkie’ was my best friend sense I could remember. Of course it got a little more messed up each year, but I still loved it. My friends would tease me about bringing it to sleepovers and what not, but I still loved it. My mom said it was about time to let it go because it was ripped and stained, but I still loved it. When I was 13, my little Twinkie got lost in a hotel far away from where I lived. Even though I was thirteen, I was completely devastated, and very sad. Three years later little did I know that we were going to the same hotel. At the front, there was a lost and found. I glanced over, and I did not believe what I saw. You could probably guess what I found. Now, Twinkie is patched up, on my bed, and coming with me when ever I need her.

Man this song. It’s so beautiful how a song can relate to so many people deeply. It’s a bitter-sweet moment. Speaking of that, since social media is literally now the only place to socialize and meet new friends due to quarantine (thank you, pandemic) lemme tell y’all how much it absolutely floored me to see and think about how many online friends I’ve grown close to left in a variety of ways. From building relationships with others and slowly growing hypocritical and cold towards me to the point where they ignore me unless if I do something they get mad at to internet drama scaring them off, or just personal stuff happening in their lives, people I’ve wanted and tried to be close would immediately be gone. I’m not kidding. Literally every week now, something happens which causes them to never be seen or heard of again for any particular reason. For the personal stuff, I understand, but the people leaving me because of losing interest or just not liking me anymore gets me very sad ngl.

In 2019 I experienced my first breakup. This song was the song I listened to every single day, and at the time I would cry while listening to it. I still have the feeling of crying now when I listen to it. 💔

I felt very emotional for the first time coming back to this movie as an adult. I watched this movie countless times and it went over my head. But now? Im 20 and more observant when it comes to media since I love art and animation. This scene hits hard and it made me admire Pixar in its early stages.

This song resembles so strongly the emotions I've felt while going through my mom having Alzheimer's disease from the time I was four. By the time I was 6 she didn't recognize me at all. And when I was 15 she had finally passed, but right before she did, she looked at me and smiled while a tear rolled down her face because she remembered who I was. Then she was gone.

Listening to this on repeat and I can't stop crying. Reminds me of what I wish I had with my mom. Living on the same property and not even so much as a how are you. I don't get along with her husband. My family is scattered and doesn't speak due to fighting over ownership of the family home all while my grandmother is still alive. My heart yearns for family. My inner child wants and misses their mom. I wish it was easier to say I love you and miss you mommy. Sorry for the rant. Everything hurts and I don't know what to do or where to turn after 20+ yes of hurt.

My soul mate/ The One crossed paths with me 5 months ago... It was once in a life time love, we loved each other endlessly, A literal angel on this earth, she made me the happiest I’ve ever been & had my back even when I was drunk... I Quit drinking because I hurt her while very drunk, we’ve been crying for each other since as she’s in a different city now & when I play this song I just can’t stop crying, as I pray That the Lord brings me back to her

When I was young, me and my sister were best friends. But when I went to middle school (I was a grader higher despite us being twins) she stopped hanging out with me at home. Then when she came to my school it never changed and she just kinda went away until our parents divorced. Every time i listen to this song I cry because the last time we spoke, I told her she was always gonna be my best friend and she told me that the day I went to middle school was the day we stopped being best friends. We haven't spoken since.

I had a friend named Jonathan and he drowned 7 years ago during a camping trip our families went together to the lake. He was only 7, he went to early. I love him so, this was his favorite song and he would always listen to it when we didnt see eachother and 7 year old me sang this at his funeral, in his honor, i sang it as if I were him singing about the times that I wasnt their for him, I regret that I didnt spent more hours with him but the hours we spent together will always be in my heart. ❤❤❤❤

This song hits me everytime I hear it, not only because my childhood and all the toys I' had especially my favorites, but over the past like 6 years I'd have to stay, (From the time I was 18 until now I'm going on 25) it just seems like my moms dramatically changed towards me... and I have no idea where I went wrong to make her that way.

I watched toy story 2 for the first time when I was 6. And even at a young age I understood the song and i cried for a long time. My mom even thought I was ill because I was so upset. I have so much more to relate to the song with now but the first time was the saddest because I knew I would loose some of my friends at some point.

Its so wierd that toys are the most important thing to most kids but almost all of them forgot, lost, or gave them away at some point in their lives. Then this song plays and hits them in the gut with guilt, regret, and sentimentality.

One of the best piano tunes from Pixar. Love how they use that slightly off=tune saloon bar style piano, sounds like it's drunk LOL. Love it, I've done a version of this song but it was on my old upright, I might do another. Great tune, can't watch it without nearly starting to greet like a big kid LOL. Which is the magic of Pixar, doesn't matter if your a kid or an adult anybody can watch it and get the same feelings even 20 odd years later.

This songs reminds me of my ex best friend she was and still is such an amazing person. I trusted her with everything I had. She was such a great friend she was always there for me when I needed her even tho at the time I couldn't admit that I needed help with my depression she was there. But than I lost her trust cause I messed up and I hurt her I couldn't forgive myself and apologize so I fell into depression even deeper and I feel lost without her in my life. I had never done something so hurtful to anyone but I was so vulnerable but I know it wasn't all my fault. She accepted me for who I was and never questioned me she was honest and such a beautiful person inside and out. She gave the best advice and hugs, those hugs I remember so vividly. If you ever see this I'm sorry for what I did I'm sorry I hurt you so bad if I could reverse time I would of never of done it but I was so weak and vulnerable cause I didn't love myself at the time so I couldn't stop it cause I was hurt and taken advantage of. I'm sorry please let me come back to you...

I used to be really close with my cousins. there were 3 of them on my dad's side of the family. me and one of my cousins were the same age, and me and her always hung out. we always had each other's backs. Her family was really mormon, and my family wasn't religious. At all. Our parents got in a big fight. My uncle said that we were horrible people, and my cousins shouldn't be near us. I haven't seen them in years. I started hating my cousins, cause I didn't understand at the time. but now, I just miss them. There's nothing I can do, since they loved rather far. I miss when my cousin Natalie loved me.

I listen to this song when I think about my sweet mother and the times we spent together when I was growing up. We didn't have a great relationship when I was a teenager but we were very close when I was small. as I got older she developed a mental illness called schizophrenia and slowly drifted away from reality and me, until she no longer remembered me and was overcome by hallucinations, she died at the age of 37 when I was 16. "So the years went by, I stayed the same, but she began to drift away. I was left alone, but still I waited for the day, when she'd say 'I will always love you'" "Like she loved me, when she loved me."
