The trick for corks is to make the hole the size of the big end of the cork. After glazing, itfits every time

Have you done the mystery chip technique inside a bowl? I imagine they run beautifully down the concave wall of a bowl.

Hi, yes that was my first test on the inside of a bowl. I adore the effect. I've got images and videos of them on my Instagram page farforeatcetamics. Don't think I can add an image here ;(

Wow! Fantastic kiln opening Jeanette, so great to see you❤ love the platter, really love the slip texture effect, the blue one is gorgeous❤ and the Cork against the brown one is so smart. Little houses are gorgeous too. Gnomes look great, think the white is more traditional but love the brown beard too. The chip bottle...wow wow wow love that! A kiln full of wins, have really missed your wonderful enthusiasm, so happy to see you again Jeanette❤❤❤❤

Thanks Julia so much. It was wonderful to have that buzz again, and my prototypes give me answers, more inspiration and some successes. I'm desperate to try the chip bottle in a taller version now, as I feel this could even be more amazing. Thanks for the lovely message, means a lot.

I tried it with one but the surface was very rough which I didn't feel was slick enough. Think I just need to learn to estimate the clay shrinkage better lol

Thanks Sarah, this was filmed about 7 weeks ago, was such a good day! Currently laid up in bed with pneumonia! But at least giving me opportunity to do some social.media 😊 I love the trees too, buy boy do they take ages to make! Wanting to now though a taller bottle to tey the chips on again, what a fabulous cascade of colour. Best part of this opening for me was the inspiration and understanding it gave me, always love an experiment and then work on developing and improving it. Glad I not the only one whose brain does this all the time 😂.

Thanks so much, I loved this opening. The trees took so SO long to make, but worth the time I think. Was going to take some photos and videos with tea lights in when I add to my Instagram page. I'm hoping they will work nice along side the Village houses I'm developing. Time will tell 😊

Awesome kiln opening Jeanette. Beautiful pieces. I prefer the white beards. Have you ever considered using some of your terracotta for planters?
@FarForestCeramics
@FarForestCeramics Жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you on the white beards, they are my favourite too. Plant pots could be a great use of the terracotta but we don't use many here as we live in a forest, and have lots of flower beds in the grounds so notch need for planters. However I'm thinking some cazula pots may be something to try. We had some from Spain about 15years old and love them . Just the rustic terracotta with a clear glaze on the inside and rim of the bowls. Great for rustic dinner parties lol

Thankyou so much. Early morning light is so georgous isn't it. Wish the trees did not take so long to make though lol Really want to make some taller wavy bottles and resist the urge to do a combo, just let one glaze do the work. It's so hard to trust in the process sometimes. So kuchen inspiration here of next projects I want to try , thanks for the comment, appreciated.

I LOVE the fern platter! I’d love to try that! 💜 I would see if the 1st mystery chips bottle sits even on the drips & see if they could just be decorative feet! Gorgeous!!! I might just leave the cookie on the 2nd one like it has a little built in dish to rest on. Your luminary trees are spectacular! How did you get the 3D texture for the branches/snow? I love the Himalayan salt beard! He looks a little like a sweet ginger fellow! 😊 Very successful kiln unloading! So nice to see you Jeanette!

Thanks for the feedback and lovely message. Good idea on the bottles, will take a closer look and see my options. Definitely would grind down but idea of drippy feet would be awesome if they were all level! Trees took an eternity to make, but want to try to see how I can speed up the process. Basically balls of clay smoothed downwards with your finger. Keep layering. I'm growing to love my little ginger gnome too, however I really want to use my terracotta clay up, so need to find a Stroke and Coat with a similar shade maybe? Great to hear from you, 😊

HI, I thought I shared which glazes I used during the filming? Was there a particular piece that you wanted the glaze combination, or was it the mystery Chips? I have a separate video showing how I made my mystery Chips if that is helpful. Apologies for the delay in replying, been a few busy weeks.

I'm so pleased you found it interesting. I believe they were on amazon. From a company called Creative Hobbies. If you search " pump dispenser with cork stopper" you should locate. Not sure if he got them from US, but it was much cheaper shipping costs than to UK ;)

Thanks for commenting, and apologies for the delay in replying. I've actually made a KZbin showing how I make them and their uses. It's recycled glaze, dried into flakes which I then can reapply to a piece to give a fabulous surprise result. Love that we can recycle so much.

Beautiful ceramics. I think I watched some of your early videos and I have to admit I got annoyed with your bubbly personality. However I think you did really well in this video. Your enthusiasm still shines through, but a little bit more curbed, if that is the right word. And I absolutely love the dual screen your doing. I like it when you can see the pieces really well and the reaction of the maker. Thank you for a wonderful kiln opening 😊

I really appreciate your co structure feedback. I'm two years into my pottery journey and the first year I could not get my head around the results. These videos were more for me to track my own progress and I'm surprised that people find them helpful. It is not meant to be entertainment, I don't earn from it, purely a record of my journey. I unfortunately can't curb or exaggerate my reactions, and I do tend to be quite bubbly on a normal day, so on a kiln opening it's like overdrive! I do appreciate your feedback though, thanks so much for taking the time.
