Indeed, it was running due to a fault with an XC power car so they hired in an EMT one. Not only that but the day after a VTEC one came down with it.

43043 is not used to such long journeys, it did Leeds to Plymouth and Plymouth to Glasgow in one day and then thought i'm not doing that again so subsequently failed the next day lol

I think This all started with the failure of 43303 at Neville Hill (Leeds) and EMT 43043 was added instead to work the IV44/1S51 on the Friday. It failed at some point in Scotland as Craigentinny added VTEC power car 43305 to 43207 to work the 1V58 0900 Glasgow - Penzance the next day on the Saturday which I saw at Tiverton Parkway running about 10 mins late 😊👍🏽

KTV Videos - Ideally XC need more HST power cars and coaches...they should use more of them on the busy Edinburgh-Plymouth corridor instead of Voyagers freeing up more voyagers to "double up" on other busy services 👍🏽😊 - I bet they won't snap up any spares though when GWR are done with them as there will be spares even after the Scottish cascade 🙄

Lol! I saw a VTEC Powercar on a XC servie at Loswithiel about 2 weeks ago. Btw, I've seen the 3 GWR HST powercars I wanted to see as well. Nice catch though. Do you know why they've been borrowing all these powercars?

+Meengineer100 I was meant to see the VTEC power car but had to be in London so I couldn't. It was only a temporary thing, mainly because 43303 had failed so they needed a stand in.
