If you need a Block let me know where you are and what's the Budget ? I've probably got a few 440 Blocks still in stock... ALL are already Hot Tanked, Mag'd, then decked at nominal 10.71" and Rough Bored .030" before we'd put them in stock for later use.

Still have it for sale. Might keep it though

I believe that block would still work fine. In the future make sure that the machine shop that you use has a torque plate for the Mopar B/RB engine block. Its a big deal!

Yes I believe so myself as well. Note taken. Thanks for watching!

A Torque Plate is bolted to the Block Deck during the Cylinder Honing process.... to simulate the forces the Head Bolts exert on the Block when the Cylinder Head is bolted down, which "distorts" the Cylinders from the Torque applied to the Head Bolts. Agreed .160" or higher(.200" +) is nice to see for wall thickness, but it also depends on the Rod Angularity or "Rod Ratio" of the build contemplated ? Factory 440's have 6.76" Rods/divided by Stroke(3.75") to find Rod Ratio = 1.80 or extremely good with low wall loading..... meaning, I would not worry much at all about a "440" 6.76"/3.75" with a Cylinder at .160" as long as it's limited within one area and NOT the entire "major" thrust side of that one cylinder wall ? Now, that said.... as we move into Stroker Rod Length/Stroke combo's.... for example 7.100" Rods/4.250" Stroke for example = "1.67"... be aware that as Rod ratio DROPS(lower number) the angularity is increasing and with it Cylinder Wall Loading, and also keep in mind the Piston Skirts get shorter concentrating that added loading in a smaller area on the Cylinder wall. Too long winded... I'm out

That's enough to make a grown man cry. I'd imagine that could be welded up. Probably wont be pretty though. I've seen chucky2009 weld cast pretty good with some stainless rod.

Nice vid. What kinda hp you wanting from the 440 you get? I bought mine from a 1977 new yorker, im working on a 70 at the moment.
@wills69charger14 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’m shooting for 500 to 600hp in the long run but for the short term I’ll be happy with the stock 370 to 400hp. How about yourself? What is your combo?
@AirabellaCullen094 жыл бұрын
Going with e street heads, bullet cam, eddy intake, and long tubes. Shooting for 450 hp with everything else stock. Love these old mopar cars but you can drop some money in them quick. Think i saw on fb were you was selling the block, i join a bunch of the fb pages as well. I found you can find a bunch of parts on fb martket place.

Yes Facebook marketplace is the way to go right now for finding old Mopar parts. Posted it for sale to get feelers of any interest. We’ll see how it goes.

That's NOT going to harm anything, as it looks like from the Video that the Oil pan still has plenty seal against ? I've machined/built hundreds of BB Mopars and as long as the pan gaskets/windage tray still has plenty to seal against don't worry about it. For cosmetics ? try just beating it back down with a hammer and call it a day ? if the piece falls out... oh well... carry on ! As for the motorhome 440's ? they are notoriously LOW Compression ratio engines "as delivered" and NOT real good performers even with modest bolt-ons ? Just a nice way of saying they are dawgs ! I better subscribe as I also own a "survivor" 1969 Charger R/T SE, 440/Auto. What part of the country are you in ?
@wills69charger14 жыл бұрын
I’m from Irving, Tx how about yourself? On the motor home 440 just wanted to expirement on my past time. Maybe make a budget 440 build. Not sure yet. Was thinking about changing pistons out to raise compression and reusing the heads. What are your thoughts? Maybe put a aftermarket cam as well.

@@wills69charger1 IMO, cheapest & easiest if you do rebuild is to just use the L2355F Speed Pro Pistons, a set of ARP Connecting Rods Bolts is also advisable when the Rods are ReSized, and a good default Cam for us on the 346 or 452 Heads rebuilt "stock" has been the Comp Cams XE268H, but ordered with the "23" part number prefix which denotes 3-Bolt Cam so be sure to order a 3-Bolt Timing Chain & Gears also. Makes a very respectable 440 build and it may surprise you just how quick it actually is ? Even with Headers and a decent Dual Plane Intake/Carb I would suggest shifting around 5,200-5,400.... no point revv'ing any higher as it will just go slower,and you are better off working off the 500 ft/lbs lower with the heavy car anyway ! If you weren't so far away I would work something for a Block... but alas I'm waaay up by Eureka Mt so I don't think the Freight would be cost effective ?

Please send email to wills_garage@yahoo.com so I can contact you if needed. I’m currently looking for a full running 440 but will lean towards a block if I don’t find one.
