This time on Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan meet up with Vice Grip Garage and Roadworthy Rescues owner Derek Bieri to take a 1968 big-block Dart known as "El Dart-O" on a tire-smoking road trip that includes a final run down Memphis International Raceway and some hair-raising passes down George Ray's Wildcat Dragstrip.

The final scenes in Two-Lane Blacktop were filmed at McMinn County Airport in Athens, TN. Lakeland Raceway WAS used in the film, but for the final drag meet ('Lil' biddy 55, sure sounds strong').

Probably because the dragstrip closed down for good. It used to host the Super Chevy Show back in the 90s (maybe earlier) with bracket/drag racing all weekend, jet cars and jet semis, huge enthusiast and family event for years. The One Lap of America also used this track in the past. I went there as a teen in the 90s. I think it has become a huge storage facility or something sad like that.

Pine Knob Drag Strip near me just west of Nashville is one you may not have visited. I found out about this one when my kids purchased a new home adjacent to what is left of the concrete race track in Dickson, TN.

​@@0hjaa3.06 next time you need an air freshener for a vehicle instead of using the little trees grab yourself one of those home air fresheners (the cone shaped ones that twist open) throw one in a cup holder in the backseat. After a day itll completely eliminate any smell, last longer and more cost efficient as well

I ran multiple Drag Weeks and Pump Gas Drags there. You could sneak in by lifting the pipes of the base and reinstall them. Don't ask how I know.......

Doing some USMC training in Millington and got to volunteer for "security" at the Spring Nationals, think that was the name, in the Spring of 95 at that drag strip. Was a good time

The UK is in serious trouble and importing the worst the 3rdw0rld has to offer has made things worse, irreversably worse. One of my colleagues is an English man here in Europe, he wouldn't even consider retirement in the uk when we were discussingsome of the issues he was having here regarding pension and citizenship, he said the uk is done for. I'm not saying that were better off, Germany, Sweden and France certainly aren't...
