@shot shot I beg to differ. The effects of downforce/aerodynamics can begin to present themselves at speeds as low as 40 mph. By 60, they are ever present. In a 440 hp Miata, the rules of the road are unlikely to be followed. It is very possible and likely that the owner will exceed 100 mph on multiple occasions. Perhaps he will even take high speed corners at 100+. Proper aero will not only make this car safer, but much faster through high speed turns and much more fun to drive.

This brings back memories ... My first Miata was an NB I built up with 350hp at 18psi boost, which I used as a daily driver for years. Mine was built to run 25psi, but it rarely even touched 20psi. He's 100% correct, this car is not one to hand to someone not ready for the power. Boost made the car so intoxicating to drive, but you get in trouble super easy. Yes, it's fun, but it really ups the fear factor. It changes the car from a fun car that you can do whatever to one you have to keep under control to not die quickly. Recently, I picked up an ND1 and love it. So much fun to go a little nuts at times knowing you're well within the limits of the car.

Speed is one thing, tires can show a lot of tread, but something as simple as "STORAGE" of tires and age affect the tire compound. Hard cornering and accelerating out of corners wear on multiple components too. Education goes a long way when it comes to longevity.

ECU remap + stage 1 turbo kit + sport exhaust and I already had 260 hp, over double the stock figures, lol! It was the cheapest high-power increase I knew back then.
